Its a very sad day :( , I have just found out we have lost another B5 actor, Andreas Katsulas(GKar) has just died of from lung cancer :blah:. Spare a thought for a man who acted his part greatly in Babylon 5 and also other films and shows.

Indeed a very sad day.
He was my favorite character in B5 and I was very sorry to hear the news.
But he will live on in his films.

I will never forget the 'Dead. Dead. Dead' scene, it was one of the most powerful scenes I have seen both inside and outside Sci-Fi.
A great actor, a great loss.

The best to the family and friends Mr. Katsulas left behind. I had no idea he was ill, and it seems the B5 cast keeps getting smaller. Without a doubt, he played one of the deepest and most interesting characters on the show.

That is a real shame. I'll definately miss him as he was one of the greats. I don't think there are many people who could watch the "We will be free" scene in the council chamber and not be moved regardless of whether they were a B5 fan or not.

My sympathies to the family and Friends of Mr Katsulas. He was a great actor and will always be remembered by B5 fans across the globe. May he rest in peace.

:( I have no words to express his passing properly. He was one of the few actors who added his essence to his character.

Well, being a Greek, I am a bit sadder as he was one of our greatest. Yes he was!
So if you don't mind a greek farewell to the dead...
"Αιωνία η μνήμη!" meaning may his memory live for ever.
For me, as for many other people HE WAS the Narn regime.
He does leave a legacy though, since for so long as B5 is remembered he will be right along with the best of them, because that is what he was.
TBP goes a long way to keeping B5 alive forever. So, I can't think of a better place to remember his life and honour his death.

He also made a damn good Romulan in Star Trek: The Next Generation. I don't think anyone else could have played the role of Commander Tomalak half so well.

He was also the "One Armed Man" in the movie version of "The Fugitive" starring Harrison Ford, as well as the Terrorist leader Yaffa in "Executive Decision" starring Kurt Russel. He was also more recently on an episode of Star Trek Enterprise (can't remember whether it was season 2 or 4) "The Cogenitor", as the captain of a scientific research and exploration ship, from a species with 3 genders. He and Captain Archer fly through the corona of a star for most of the episode, while the A plot takes most of the show.

Of course, I sided with the Centauri in that conflict (even BEFORE I knew the Shadows were behind Cartagia, etc), but that scene in the lift was classic. Katsulas and Jurrasik had a rare chemistry (e.g. Nimoy/Kelley). Humorous scenes in Sci-Fi are hard to find these days because everything's just so darn melodramatic.
My favorite G'Kar scene was the "40 lashes" scene.
The highest tribute we can pay to an actor who passes, isn't to mourn with the family as it is to celebrate his work. A (good) professional actor gives so much time to his projects for our benefit his/her audience. This thread seems to be on the right track.

I'd like to suggest that the next version of TBP Base has a new "In Memory Of" section in the credits with pictures of Richard Biggs, Tim Choate and Andreas Katsulas.

This post might be on the old side, but I feel I must give my condolences as well.
G'Kar though not my favorite Babylon 5 character, is among them, and was certainly among one of the most interesting. This means though that should any B5 pictures be made at all in the future, we will miss out on his sense of humor, as he showed in Legend of the Rangers. Nevertheless, his passing will have a severe impact on his folllowers and fans of B5, and the chances of another movie further diminished.
Let us hope that none of the other actors pass away any time soon. Particularly Londo.
It's funny, though not in a humorous way, that if both Jurasik and Andreas had both died at the same time, it would be fittingly ironic, since their characters both died together in the series. But on the otehr hand, I'm just as grateful that Jurasik survives.
