Check out my FAQ. It should answer most of the stuff you want to ask in the first few days.

Strange though it may seem, you're not entitled to be spoon-fed things that have been answered hundreds of times before in great detail.

more questions to come.

Questions, yes. Threads, no. Use the same thread, or face them all being locked.

Darth HoJaPe, If you want to be taken seriously, you need to use real words and grammar.

And, no. You're wrong. Posting isn't "something to do." You should only post if you have a point to make or a question to ask that is pertinent to the forum/conversation. Posting for the hell of it isn't posting. It's spamming.

On top of which the time I spend answering those questions is time I could better spend actually doing something useful with the code or FRED or the wiki.

You could always spend your seemingly abundant free time learning big words like 'something', 'anyone', and maye even 'to'.

I'll be honest, the single best way of doing it is to use Kara's tutorial, it's pretty much a collection of the tutorials we all learnt on, so we can promise they work.

I'd suggest, first of all, use the links in the tutorials for the modding stuff, and start learning about the file structure, the .vp files and the .tbl files, and start playing with the tables, they are probably the best place to start learning to mod on, because they don't need models or anything. and as long as you keep a backup, you can learn by trial and error with less frustration. You'll need to understand the .tbl files to add new content anyway.

You've not lived until you've set the prom S to fire a 200m wide blob of doom that destroys a Fenris with one hit.

This could be interesting.

Darth, welcome to HLP. :) We don't mind answering whatever questions you have or participating in discussions, but there are places for those kinds of things. The Hard Light forum is aimed at mostly general discussion, but this forum is primarily Freespace-oriented. This thread is in the right place, but just keep that in mind next time, alright? :)

Er, IIRC he HAS been banned...I'd like to kindly request this thread be locked as well, seeing as the spam threads appear to be contagious to people posting in them as well. :)
