Ok, I've reinstalled Far Cry. If I don't manage to enjoy it this time, it's being sold. I know some of you guys are awfully fond of this game, so maybe you'll know the answers to a few questions I have that might help me enjoy this game.
A) Is there any way to get the game to recognize the extra buttons on my MX500? It doesn't recognize mouse 4 or 5, which annoys me.
B) Is there any slow motion console commands like timescale does in the doom engine?
C) Is there a way to bind console commands to mouse buttons?
If I can get those three answered, I can rig up a FEAR type slow motion for this game, which would probably do wonders for my enjoyment of the game. Certainly did in Doom 3 and Quake 4.

I posted this in the thread in the SCP forum:
As I said, you can bind them to normal keys that you aren't using through the Logitech mouse control panel. I have the extra buttons on mine mapped to f, g, h, j and k, so if I want to use a mouse button for some command, I just bind its associated key in a game's control settings.
I don't know of any slow motion command though.
Also, make sure you bind to something to the quicksave/quickload commands, as the game can become extremely frustrating without them near the end unless you're playing on the lowest difficulty.

OK, well, that helps some. I think I can work out how to do the bindings, though any tips would be helpful.
