I'm finding myself in need of a small hard drive, somewere in the 10-20 gig range. anyone got one laying around they'd be willing to part with?
-
I have one, but I use it occasionally when testing overclocks. It's a weird 5.25" drive that won't fit in normal cases anyway.
Try ebay. These things can be found very cheap there. I got a fairly fast 40GB drive from there for $28 two months ago.

Yes, i got one, um, in my, uh, wallet.

Meh a spare hard drive, in conjuction with a network adaptor and HDloader can back up all your PS2 games.

Staples currently has a sale on a Maxtor 200GB ATA with 8mb Cache for $39.99 after all the rebates and such. Not bad considering the price and size of the drive. I think there's a big whopper of an instant rebate, meaning it's applied at checkout, but don't quote me on that if you have to buy it online. I noticed this online and in-store, so if you have a staples near you, I'd go in and check.

That's the drive I'm using right now. At that price I'll have to think about picking up a second one.
-
at that price I might have to think about picking up five, damn!
-
hmm, that price actually includes a $40 mail in rebate that expires today. I'm not going to have time to go a Staples today, and at $80 it's nothing out of the ordinary.

I've got a 20 gigger that may or may not work...
-
I've got a 10 gig and a 40 gig, but it'll cost you a lil bit for it ;)
-
shoot if you need a hard drive that desperately, let me know, and i'll buy one for you on Ebay and have it shipped t your house ;)

Wow, the mail-in rebate expires(d) today? darn, I was thinking of getting one just for some cheap mass storage. Don't they have a "must pe postmarked" date on them? I saw a whole bunch on a table there and they weren't selling much... then again I WOULD have to front 80 up front and I really dont want to do that unless the rebates are truly really instant. Ah well, no biggie for me. Come to think of it, I know I have a 10 gig drive around here somewhere. It's an old Quantum, so I cannot guarantee reliability. What's really funny though is it has a little apple logo on it, I guess it came out of someone's mac, but I dunno. It was found in an old machine I was gutting out and I used it for my MS-DOS drive, it does work but it gets no use now because I really dont have the time for the old box atm.
