Post by: starbug on February 27, 2006, 03:49:26 pm
i have just upgraded my computer to a
Athlon 64 3200+
WinXp Pro service pack 2
ATi Radeon 256 GTO X800 driver 5.13
512 DDr (will be upgrading)
onboard Realtek AC97 Audio (nd to buy sound card)

I re-installed FS2 wil the SCP using the latest Media VPs, i am using build fs2_open_r-20060116 only recent build i could find, now when i run the game i get a Crackling sound when ever i go into the techroom or play a mission, it gets worse as i move ships about in the techroom and when i move about in a mission, does anyone who if this is a bug or is something not rite on my machine?

I had this. Updating the ac97 driver fixed it.

[Edit] Link (http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dlac97-2.aspx?lineid=5&famid=12&series=8&Software=True). The one I used was the 3.82 driver, seems they're up to 3.83 now, but doubt that'll matter.
