Genius, where do you get those wonderful toys?
-
I'm having difficulty telling if that's a parody site or not. :wtf:
-
Check the 'About Us' ;) It's Parody :)

Now see, I did look there, but it wasn't 100% clear to me... I should have known it was a parody though, since it's british, and not based in, say, Alabama.
EDIT: Oooor. I could have looked closer and saw this :

Either it's a parody, or the people behind it just got blown up too many times in that game when they were kids. I say parody :)
And by the way, damn what an addictive game that can be. Easy recipe for getting sore fingers is to get dynablaster/bomberman running on an old computer when you and a friend are bored to death. Hours of fun will ensue
-
The acronised (is that a word?) name alone should scream parody. ;)
-
User-created games produced with the sole aim of encouraging terrorism are coded in a special language called Allah++.
Phew. And I thought it might be real for a moment. :D
-
On a related note, have you seen the new Bomberman?

IMO that emphasises exactly what's wrong with modern games........
-
Agreed Aldo, I swear they'd make Bugs Bunny into a Killer Rabbit if it weren't for Monty Python.
-
That's a joke right?
Right?

No, it's not. And having the worlds most wooden George Takei soundalike doing the voice-over doesn't help.
It really is more than slightly pathetic isn't it. Just goes to show how games are veering more towards sensationalism and power-advertising because they are decreasing in content and gameplay. After all, this will be, what, the 5th Bomberman game?
Edit : That one, in fact, does look a lot more like Gloryfying Terrorism than the original subject of this thread!

Who's the executive producer of this thing George bloody Lucas?
I still have my multitap, 4 pads and Bomberman 1 for the SNES, I have remained pure. When the reckoning comes these bastards will be first against the wall.

I know, it's like watching someone take your favourite Teddy Bear and beat Kittens to death with it :(

Mother. Of. God.
Actually, **** it, I'll do a Bugs Bunny rehash:

There you go, "Fully automatic Bunny", he's cool, he's black and he's down with the kidz in da hood.

Ah, good old urinating on the ashes of my childhood.

I thought Flipside was being ironic, but it's even better as a coincidence.

I believe they revised the characters after the uproar caused by those images.

aka 'Shadow the Hedgehog syndrome'.
It's a bit like the next Mario game having Mario as a grizzled, homeless war veteran, recovering from alcoholism, whilst struggling to cope with the fallout of his wife Daisys' illict affair with his best friend Toad (himself struggling from a traumatic upbringing as a short mushroom in a big city), before eventually going on a violent bullet-ridden rampage to avenge his brother Luigis bloody murder by the local crimelord, Bowser. Oh, and Yoshi as an illegal immigrant prostitute, sick and twisted from being forced to play S&M games involving being ridden like a dinosaur and being made to eat and vomit out raw eggs.

I believe you're thinking of Birdo.

i wish theyd make cartoons in the old skool style. there are so many cartoons theese days that if i had kids, i wouldnt let watch. id rather let kids watch the ww2 episodes that featured aldof hitler getting whacked by the loony toons characters. in a thousand years people will still be watching those cartoons, as for the rest theyd get flushed down history's toilet. modernizing the most classic of cartoons is an atrocity i cannot tolerate.
-
I've started buying old Cartoon series on DVD in responce to this kind of thing, I want my kids watching the good stuff that I did. Thundercats, Transformers and Dogtanian & the Three Muskerhounds to name but a few.
I didn't buy the DVDs just so I could watch them myself...
Honest.

I'd heard that too but the fact that they'd even try is a pretty good example of what's wrong with kids TV these days.
I would quite happily sit down and watch one of the classics from my childhood again today. How many kids are going to be saying that in 20 years time?
About the only kids cartoon I would even watching from the last few years is Dan Dare. I can't think of anything else even remotely watchable.
-
And Dan Dare is based off a far far older Comic strip from the Eagle, which was around before even I was born. Though, admittedly, I did read the 'new' Dan Dares when the Eagle was re-released about 20 years ago for a while :)

Never said it wasn't :) I used to get Eagle at one point when I was much younger too :)
It kinda proves my point that about the only inventive new cartoon is actually about 50 years old. In a similar fashion some of the batman and spiderman cartoons weren't bad but again both are old concepts which died a very quick death when people tried to "jazz them up for the 21st century" with Spiderman Unlimited and Batman of the Future.

Heh, there was a kid at school who used to have the nickname of Mekon..
We used to say he had a fivehead, because it was too big for a forehead.
Kids can be so cruel sometimes
