Tomorrow, I have a Spanish test. If I do indeed have to take it tomorrow, I will most definitely fail because I don't understand the material at all. However, it's supposed to snow tomorrow... at the moment, weather.com is saying that the snow won't start until 9am. I either need a snowday or an early dismissal from school... so please, everybody, do a snow dance for me so that the snow demons will be appeased and I won't have to take my test!
I am very grateful for your help.

I don't dance, but I will wish you luck if you do have to take it. If you do just tell you teacher
No hablo espanol senorita.
Or
No leo espanol senorita. (I think leo is the right context for leer...been a few years.)
When I was in college up around chicago, I worked at a department store that had many spanish speaking people in it and this one girl had a device about the size of her palm that translated english/spanish.
Too bad you can't obtain one of these.

Where you at?

NYC area.
And I'd love to have a translator or whatnot, but the problem is I'm supposed to be pretty proficient in the language... it's a literature class. :(

Jeez, only 2 classes I hated and those were any english class 1st (lit included) and another language. And those are combined somewhere? Good luck with that.

My list of spanish "phrases":
- tu Madre
- su tan mudo un arbol
- su cinco assed el mono
- su alimento preferido es poop
- cabeza del extremo
- licker del asno
Say as many as you can right in your teachers face.
Then you won't have to take the test. If your lucky, you won't have to take the class anymore either.

I would do a snow dance for you except that if I must endure winter much longer, I will wither away into dust to be borne away into the abyss of time by the same icy fingers of Hades that finally snuffed out the dying flame of my spirit.
Also, that **** doesn't work.

Well then good noews! There's a winter storm advisory in effect!

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THURSDAY TO MIDNIGHT EST THURSDAY NIGHT...
A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THURSDAY TO MIDNIGHT EST THURSDAY NIGHT.
SNOW...MIXED WITH SOME SLEET AT TIMES...WILL BEGIN THURSDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON...BEFORE ENDING THURSDAY NIGHT. THE HEAVIEST SNOW IS FORECAST TO FALL IN THE AFTERNOON...INCLUDING THE EVENING RUSH HOUR. AT THIS TIME...TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 5 TO 7 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS...ACROSS THE WARNING AREA.
A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.
Now that will get you out of class. ;)
Now doing a little more looking, the NAM is puting down .50 to .75 of an inch of liquid, whitch would be about 5-7 inches of snow for the greater NYC area.
But, the GFS is putting down maybe close to an inch of precip, and that would equal to about 10 inches of snow.
However they are very inline with each other, showing great consistancy, so you guys should be white by tommorow. ;)

I completely sucked at spanish in high school. Don't remember thing a now.
I have a philosophy test tomorrow and a complex dynamics test on tuesday. I won't be lucking out with any snow around here, but they should both be fairly easy.
-
You asked for it, so I Googled the words "snow dance". Here's what I came up with.

Well, a big thank you to all you guys who helped out... the snow started promptly at 830 and went long enough so that I got out of school early and missed my test. The day is saved thanks to HLP!

Jerks. We got the snow up here in New Paltz, but school is still open, despite the acccumulation.
Oh well. My classes are over and I aced my Modern China exam anyway.
-
Wimps with your snow days. Go to school.
-
Not a snow day... just an early dismissal. I had class until 12:30. And it has nothing to do with us, it's all what the town bus company wants to do... if they don't feel like driving in the snow then they cancel school.
-
Well, that, and going until 12:30 likely shows as a whole day in the States eyes, so the school still get's there moeny for that day.
-
How much snow did you get? Probley nothing like a few weeks ago I'm sure.

Just by rounding .5 of a day up to 1 day?

Yeah no, it only ended up being like an inch or so, nothing even close to the two feet we got a few weeks ago... it was just enough to make the bus company jittery.
