As the title says. And no, playing computer games or coding/modelling/etc. are not hobbies (not in this thread)! :p
I myself started horseriding a couple of months ago, and I really enjoy it; horses are such wonderful animals, and there is quite nothing like riding a one. :D Feels nice that at least somebody does something the way I want, hehe. ;)
-
I coach high school track, does that count as a hobby?
-
I draw and compose classical style pieces. I also bike and ski. Oh, if clubbing can be considered as a hobby, I am into that too :D
-
Playing the flute, singing, acting, following convoluted trains of thought, and trying to get my writing published.
-
Guitar :pimp:

Playing the flute, singing, acting, following convoluted trains of thought, and trying to get my writing published.
I've also wanted to learn how to play a flute for quite some time, but I haven't never had enough time for that unfortunately. I'd propably be pretty terrible at it, though. :D
-
I'm big into math and Lego building.
-
Chess unless you count that off because it's a game... like most sports.
-
I watch birds and dragon/damselflies.
-

I meant computer games, you silly! :p
-
I play Guitar, Bass, Keyboard and hand-drums, such as Tabla drums. I also paint Warhammer models when I get the time and can afford the paint :) I used to play the game, but it was terribly long-winded and always ended in arguments over whether Template X was over Unit Y etc ;)
-
Saxaphone, I play football (which is amazing, considering I'm only a 100lb 8th grader), I just built a little tiny catapult, and bike riding (don't get to do much of that where I am, though).
FLUTE??????? FLUTE???????

Well at least it's a woodwind...
-
I've played saxophone in my high school's marching band for the past four years. We don't do much in the spring and this is my senior year so I won't be doing it anymore. Can't say I'll miss it that much but there were still some fun times. And to avoid any international/cultural/lingual confusion, by marching band I mean the fluffy hat-wearing, halftime-showing, parade kind.

I enjoy learning about astronomy and physics, and I observe the night sky when possible. However, living next to a major city makes good observing quite difficult, and is actually quite depressing. :doubt:
I also enjoy swordfighting and collecting swords, but I don't have a lot of time for it. (Also :doubt:)
Sometimes I go bowling as well. Bowling is fun. :)
I guess if I were to sum this up in a sentence, I would say that I am a depressed, swordwielding astronomer who sometimes goes bowling.

My lovely horse, running
through the field,
Where are you going with
your fetlocks blowing in the
wind?
I want to shower you with
sugarlumps,
And ride you over fences,
Polish your hooves every
single day,
And bring you to the horse
dentist.
My lovely horse,
You're a pony no more,
Running around with a man
on your back,
Like a train in the night (yeah)
Like a train in the night.

FLUTE??????? FLUTE???????

Well at least it's a woodwind...
Eh, come again?
-
aldo:  Where is that from?
-
Father Ted. It's even better when you see the video :D
-
My main hobbies outside gaming are drawing and writing fiction.
-
Father Ted. It's even better when you see the video :D
We gotta lose that sax solo.
As for me, I do a little bit of climbing, an awful lot of reading, a smidgeon of gaming, build the odd guitar, fold the odd bit of paper, watch quite a lot of sci-fi and I like to laugh a lot.
-
I draw. Drawing and driving. I love both equally.
-
Model Rocketry, chess, skiing, astronomy, Scuba diving, swimming, building computers :D,.....I think that does it...
-
gaming, experimenting with explosive substances, thinking of ways to expirement with propoganda, photography, working on computers, airsoft (CTF in the mountains is so much fun :D), ATV riding, thinking about the craziest ideas to rememdy the U.S's problems.
Would get into Basketball, but I've waited to long and at this point the teams want only the best players and one's with a history of being good.
-
my hobby owns you all :)
iv been playing pro pool for a year or so now :)
-
You do know you have sig 8 in your sig twice, right? :wtf:
-
lets see, id like to get into model aircraft, but its a rather expensive hobby to get in on. on occasion i go out hiking or cycling. i also spend much time with my cats, dont know if thats a hobby though. indie films and black metal pretty much top it all off.
-
I made a flute, and a sword/knife out of a chunl of my bed... I need to make a new bed...
-
Poker, reading Star Trek fiction, Magic: The Gathering <_< yeah, I'm going to hell. :(
-
If I had time for a hobby I'd be a far happier man.
-
Drawing and hiking...
-
My hobbies:
* Building insane computer systems (the latest one mounts two Athlon XP computers, a KVM switch and a 5-port network switch in a standard ATX midi-tower case),
* Inventing stuff, varying from particle beams to flying cars to an infinitely-scalable Internet Protocol,
* Reverse-engineering (and forward-engineering from first principles) kernels, file systems, memory management techniques, garbage collection routines, etc,
* Reading and writing SciFi,
* Playing obscene numbers of computer games,
* Cycling,
* Getting very drunk and dancing like an idiot down at one of Bristol's nightclubs,
and I think that's about all of them.
No, I'm not insane. Why do you ask?

Astrophotography
-
I coach high school track, does that count as a hobby?
Whoa, me too. Freaky.
I also enjoy LANning, snowboarding, wakeboarding, tubing, rock climbing, playing guitar and piano, writing songs when I can, singing, computer modification and assembly, photography, balloon satellites, foot-racing (track), I think that's pretty much it.
-
i draw, a lot.
-
Astrophotography
I'd love to do something like that, but all I'd get is yellow Light Pollution here :(
-
Airsoft, biking and reading Sci-fi. I have a snowboard, but snowboarding isn't really my kind of thing.
-
1. Annoying the neighbors with my music (Nothing like a little Tool at 3 AM)
2. Reading (often while accomplishing the first)
3. Teaching myself Photoshop (For three years now)
Used to play a little V:TM too...
-
Besides programming and computer games?
Lets see:
- Reading. Love Mathew Riley, and the author who wrote the series of history books (such as Spartan).
- Practicing Guitar
- I like most digital forms of art, screwing around in photoshop etc.
- Going to take up photography more, now that I have my own digital camera. :)
- I'll sometimes do some sketching in my pad, but never spend enough time on it to get really good at it. =P
- Hiking and camping when holidays allow it
- I still have a bunch of Tau models sitting around unpainted from 40k. That became a very expensive hobby though =/ and kinda grew out of the game thing. (Got DoW now anywho :p ) I should finish painting those damn models though. Everytime I go to paint them I paint one dude, and then change my mind on a colour scheme, so I'm going to end up with a multi coloured Tau army akin to an army of French nobels. :p
- When time permits I love going out west and just hanging out / living a country life style.
- Love horses too, we used to look after some when we were living on an acreage. They are just as cool as dogs IMO. :)
- Got heaps of pets: dog, cat, bird, fish. So guess could be considered an animal enthusiast. =)
- I don't mind a few beers at home, a mates place or local pub, its great just sitting back and enjoying the relaxing setting. :D
But yeah, I think that's pretty much it. :)
-
I program robots (http://www.usfirst.org/robotics).
-
Writing fiction's the big one for me. Writing speeches or editorials that will never see the light of day in newspapers comes second. Third would be skeet/trap shooting at the local gun club.
-
Drawing, a bit less lately but still.
Someone should kick me in the arse real hard so that I'd realize how I have neglected my dear hobby >_>
-
*Kicks Gortef in the arse real hard*
-
Thank you, I can feel your boot right inside my bowel. ;7
Ah, I really should ink one pic I sketched a week back. The only thing I fear is that I'll ruin it since it has been so long the last time I used ink.
But one can allways sketch it again of course...
Excuses excuses... the real reasons for me not drawing that much lately are Battlefield2 and Lineage2 :F
-
I used to build models in my grade- and high-school days. Then the army happened. When I got out, HLP happened. And now that I think of it, it's still happening. :p
-
See I would have assumed you'de have a cool hobby like "Riding shotgun on a Merkava going 100km/h through the desert, while Ride of the Valkyries blasts at full volume."
Now there's a hobby.
-
Unfortunately, I don't think the Merkava has a shotgun position. :p It has a trunk, tho! :D
-
-
now that i think of it i rather enjoy cooking. i cant make any claimes at being good at it. but i never really consider it work. i have no complainmts about making a real meal after a hard day at work, and by then ive had so many pain killers it doesnt bother me. i do mexican and italian food really well, im trying to teach myself asian cooking and i make the best damn meatloaf in my apartment complex. :D
-
Writing, mainly. Fanfiction for various animes I'm too ashamed to mention...
...but not too ashamed to link to my work in my sig? :p
-
This sounds pretty strange, but I like doing my laundry. :nervous: :wtf:
[edit] Like, I actually look forward to it. And want to do it. And get excited about it. Not even joking a little bit. [/edit]
-
:wtf: :wtf:
Maybe you should start some sort of laundry-cleaning service. That way, going to work every day would be like a wonderous joy as you stand knee-deep in flithy undergarments.
-

Explain the thought process behind that, would ya? :p

Somebody's been leaning up against the spin cycle a little too much. :p
-
@ Ulala: Cool, maybe you can do my laundry for me. I always have a lot to wash :D
-
You just like dirty clothes... right? :nervous:
Um, surely it'd be clean clothes?
-
but they're dirty before being cleaned, and then they can get dirty again after being cleaned with new substances...
... ok I'll stop :nervous:
-
Karting, when I have time. Petrol fumes FTW!
Working out. When I have time.
If I had more money I'd probably be spending a lot on cars.
Reading books by people like Pilger, Chomsky. When I have time. Are we seeing a pattern yet?
Going out to both clubs and classy places. This I'd do more of if I had the time AND money.
Writing. When I have the time.
Alright I'm out. Boring fart I am.
