Oh make no mistake-- my objection is aesthetic, not moral.

EDIT: Haha! I think my signature is triggering Google ads.

What are you saying... that the Americans will stop the towers from falling over and will destroy the suspiciously English looking Taliban that did it?

I've got an odd feeling that this will tank badly. Unless it's incredibly over-patriotic ****e then there will be a storm of controvesy and no one will want to see it. But for the people who do want to see over-patriotic ****e it's probably too soon and they won't want to see it either.

Maybe I'm reading the market wrong but I can't figure out who's actually going to want to watch this.

It will be the patriotic duty of every American to see this movie. If you don't see it, you're siding with the terrorists.

It'll be the film adaptation of this (http://www.jontzen.com/tribute.htm). *retches*

Sir, I give you your over-partiotic ****e (http://www.flight93.net/). Make no mistake, 9/11 (and the subsequent events) is going to turn into an industry, it's just a mattter of when.

I direct you to the fact that World Trade Center is going to be directed by Oliver Stone. If you're looking for over-patriotic ****, then an Oliver Stone movie is not where to look.

How is there even a story?

It's kinda just:

*BOOM*
What the **** was that?
*BOOM*
Holy ****, there it was again.
ARGH! FLAMES!
Hmmm. Let's see: 1000ft free-fall to oblivion, or burning to death
....
WHEEEEEEEeeeeeee........

I don't doubt it. I just think that it's probably still a little too fresh in most peoples minds to do that well now.

I noticed who was responsible which is why I'm suspecting that unless he goes completely against character this is going to be a big controversial movie that no one ends up seeing.

The funny thing about that Flight 93 is that the music appears to be using a Middle Eastern scale for the voice ;)

I didn't. It's the official tower-evacuation plan.

No, I'm saying that no matter what horrible thing happens, people will make a movie about it. And we will watch it.

Except that halfway through, someone'll say "All's clear, it's OK to return to your offices"

I've been saying this since three days after the 9/11 disaster and I still say it. Move on.  (not Moveon.org, they can burn in hell)  All these damn shows that show how terrorism has become trendy (Sleeper Cell, 24, etc) are really pissing me off.  I think every single American is going to "Remember 9/11" regardless of what TV programs or films are made on that subject.  We don't need it constantly shoved down our throats again and again in an attempt to be patriotic and to remember what happened.  Anyone who was old enough to remember the disaster, will remember it for the rest of thier lives.  I feel it's time to keep moving forward, not keep bashing it to death.

At least the film has Nicolas Cage in it.

I suspsect he will inject rampant homosexuality into the film.

How do you do that in a film about 9/11? What, 'the two towers were in love, but could never move any closer to each other, so they killed themselves.' See, it doesn't work.

No, no, no. You've got it all wrong. The trapped Port Authority Officers resort to it to pass the time.

Why should they move on? Business people are exploiting it for profit, and the Republican party has been exploiting it ever since it happened for political purposes.

Well, at least we'll get a Phelps protest at the opening to mock. Something of redeemable value.

Good, and that means I'll get to bring a bat to the opening to meet and greet the WBC representatives.

Two excellent reasons why people need to get over it, learn from it and move forward.  If we wallow in the past and keep repeating the same message over and over again, we as a nation will go nowhere.  I do not advocate anarchy, socialism, or even nationalism, but I feel no political party will help out here, not even the independents in this country who would rather lock up the borders and become a nationalist state before doing anything else.  Both major sides will continue to use the disaster as a basis for continuing thier agendas, so they're hopelessly stuck in thier own respective political quagmires.  The people as a whole need to pick up the pieces and keep going forward.  There's a time to forego political correctness and just get along together and make this place the best place we can possibly make it.
*la la happy music and sunbeams all around*  (yeah, I know, fat chance)
