I am having problems using the $Swarm and swarm wait flags on primary weapons like terran turret, where the weapons with flags will only fire in a straight line on a single part turrets. It never used to do this (also seems the be the same on the TBP3.3 i.e Omega destroyers forward cannons can't aim.), yet they work fine on mutlipart turrets? it has been doing this with all the new builds, Is this a known bug?

multipart turrets have more firepoints. ;)
like on the herc 2. when you look at one of the missile point sets, you see about 4 firepoints. do you see what i'm saying?

:wtf: Number of firepoints has nothing to do with that... See for example HTL Satis, it has a single firepoint multi-part turret. And that turret performs exactly like any other multipart turret. The swarm problem or feature (depending usage), as it forces the weapons to be fired on the turrets 'barrel line' and not necessarily directly against hostile targets at all times like non-swarm weapons, appears on all swarm type weapons (both primaries and secondaries) and in addition with type 4 beams.
There is also some sort of feature request/bug report in Mantis about this.

Right so it is known then, i'll just have to try and get an older build to work, bet this must be a pain for the TBP since most of the ships weapons use these flags

Well, AFAIK swarm weapons have never functioned with singlepart turrets in similar manner as with multipart turrets...
