Title: Newb question about scripting.

I'm sort of confused about lua scripting, I downloaded fsview and extracted all the data tables, and etc but I don't exactly know how the CVS repository stuff from the fs2open site incorporates in to it, i'm going through the wiki on this site
http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/FS2_Open_Lua_Scripting and it says to save the example file as a .tbl and keep it in the tables directory.

Please help me, I'm really confused!
