Ok, I'm doing some shameless pimping for a friend of mine. Said friend lives in Zermatt, the village near the famous Matterhorn, probably the best known mountain in Switzerland. You know, this one:

He regularly goes climbing, and since he's studying CS he's also a geek. So he sometimes takes one of those cool panorama cameras with him, that can make full 360° pictures.
The results can be seen here: http://www.zermatt360.ch/en/home/
There are a lot of cool panoramas, which you can rotate and zoom, available as Java applet or Quicktime.
They are quite spectacular like this one, from the peak of the Matterhorn: http://www.zermatt360.ch/en/matterhorn/ascent_of_the_hoernli_ridge/pan/swiss_summit_sunrise/java/fullscreen/
Or this one, from below the peak: http://www.zermatt360.ch/en/matterhorn/ascent_of_the_hoernli_ridge/pan/above_shoulder_ridge/java/fullscreen/
The ugly mug visible in most pictures also belongs to said friend ;)
Explore the Alps, without leaving the safety of your armchair !

Have you ever gone climbing with this friend of yours?

Just kidding, very nice pictures indeed.

Nope, I'm no climber at all. Plus I've got a terrible fear of heights.
