Fifteen students in hospital after overdosing at school

FIFTEEN teenagers have been taken to hospital and a police search was under way for a sixteenth after a group of Year Nine students overdosed on amphetamines.

Heh, I know this school, even one of my cousins go there.
Dumbass kids. They're lucky they didn't have heart attacks or anything, let alone brain damage.

What's funny is they sent it to Caboolture hospital which is renowned for **** ups and a low budget. LoL. =/

F*** taking them to the hospital, let Natural Selection take its course. The less dumb-ass drug-addicts we have out there, the better.

I don't think they were addicts per say, more they found some kids ADD treatment drug Ritalin, and downed 12 or so of them. =/
Hopefully they learned their lesson...

Actually billing the idiots for treatment should work much better for the government?

The idea is to not help the Government, what have they done for us lately?

Make a clear distinction in your mind between Bush and his cabinate and the US government, there are a lot worse out there... somewhere.

Come again? I was referring to the insipid Australian Government [which, for the record, I consider far less intellegent than the US Administration], as both myself and this story originate from Australia.

In some ways... In some ways...
I think we are lucky in that at least for now, our government remains mostly un-influenced by religeon.

Though it's still affected by the usual upper class corruption and self serving bull****. =/

The news report didn't mention where the students got the drugs from.  I could never understand how people could be stupid enough to take drug at the first place.  I am surprised to see how many of these stupid people survived from what could have killed them.

Not really - consider what they're about to do to the ACT's Gay Marriage laws...

Ah yes the simpsons, that episode was quite the laugh irrc.

LoL @ Mars.

Ridilin is a commonly prescribed drug to kids with Attention Deficeit Dissorder. Most likely it belonged to one of the kids or their brother / sister. If it was one of the kids involved however, the question is why the office wasn't taking care of it.
Time will tell though, I'm sure to find out sooner or later. At least this doesn't happen often, and events such as this would most likely deter other kids from doing it.

=| Havn't heard nothing about that. Actually, hardly ever here much about anything from the ACT...

“You guys are a bunch of pill-poppin hippies. You free-luvin, weed-smoking freaks had better hope you don't find yourself on the wrong side of a wacked out Advil-trip. Take it from me, I used to snort Ibuprofen at Studio 54. I once OD'ed in the men's room mainlining Bayer aspirin and sucrets. Baaah!! you kids never learn -with your piercings, tattoos, hip-hop and analgesics. Learn your own lessons with your face plopped over in your chicken soup and your maniacal grandmother screaming at you to "feed a cold! starve a fever!!"

Or you could take a totally opposite stance on the issue, and implement drug education programs in schools. Kinda like Sex Ed., all that there really is now is 'abstinence-only' drug ed.

Just a fun thought. :D

Well that would explain why they were still looking for a 16th kid :D
