Title: Saving your settings
Post by: MachManX on April 03, 2006, 12:36:00 am
I want to play the Inferno campaign, but there is this issue with available weapons in loadout all being 0.  The way to fix it is to create a new pilot.  But I don't want to go through the hassle of reconfiguring everything, including the long list of controls.  Is there a way I can save my control configuration data?

Thanks for the suggestions, but I should've made my question more clear: which file in the Freespace 2 directory has the control configuration stored in it?  Also, if it cannot be opened by a normal text editor, what program do I use to open that file?

You were just given two perfectly workable solutions for your problem; why do you want to do it the hard way?

If you must know, it's your callsign followed by .plr and you'd need a hex editor to do anything with it.

I wanted to know which file to save in case I decided to format my computer.  Haven't done one since November, but you never know.  As for doing it the hard way, I just want to learn, nothing more.  :D

Click the 'reset loadout' button.
