STUNG by worsening crowd behaviour, the South Australian Cricket Association has banned the humble Aussie Esky from Adelaide Oval.
It just won't be the same without the nation's famous cooler on Australia Day or a corker 2006-07 Ashes series but we only have ourselves to blame.
The SACA had preserved the Esky privilege for patrons, but agreed to adopt the policy of cricket venues across the country on advice from SA police following crowd disturbances last season.
Soft cooler bags are still acceptable.
What the bloody hell kinda rule is that!?
How unaustralian it is of them. >/

Cricket? Isn't that some sort of days-long performance art thing where all the observers get drunk to keep themselves from falling asleep?

Richie Beno voice: We're here at the MCG and ZylonBane is out for a duck on the first ball... bowled under arm at a slow pace. Spectators already know it as the sudden end of a very short career as they politely applaud him out of the stadium.
-
Wait, so let me understand this: the powers that be have determined that behaviour at among spectators at cricketing grounds has sunken to an unnacceptable level.
They've identified the cause of this to be a proliferation of beer among the spectators.
So their solution is to force said spectators to either spend exorbitant amounts buying beer from the stands, or put up with luke-warm beer? I can see how that's going to help. :p
-
Indeed.
I think they're just getting greedy. >..>

indeed. They'll be drunk and angry.
Meh. The WACA bans all alcohol afaik. So you get a ginger beer bottle and fill it with bourbon. Those lipton iced tea bottles are good too - exactly the same colour as Jacks.
