Coral Gables, Fla., attorney Jack Thompson has filed a federal lawsuit against the Florida Bar, alleging it is harassing him by investigating what he calls baseless complaints made by disgruntled opponents in previous disputes.
Smart move, Jack. Smart move.

"I enjoy doing what I do and I think I've got a First Amendment right to annoy people and participate in the public square in the cultural war," Thompson said in an interview Wednesday.
Need there be more to this? Jack Thompson's an idiot, but a hilarious idiot.

Watch out! he might try to sue you. :p

"I've got a First Amendment right to annoy people"
SIGH... Yet another problem with my country... :sigh:

Once again, I find myself thanking my lucky stars for Jack Thompson. Had he not taken up the "good fight" against Video Games, a competent individual might have.
It'll be a sad, sad day for gamers everywhere when Thompson finally gives up... or gets locked up, whichever comes first...

How dare the regulatory body do it's job!

Guess what. So do the Florida Bar association.

Jack Thompson, a lawyer who annoys people and sues them, is threatening to sue lawyers for threatening to sue him because the people he sued claim he annoyed them. In his suit against the lawyers, he alleges that it is his right to annoy others, yet has threatened to sue others when they have annoyed him.
Thats Zen .
I also question the wisdom of a two-bit hack like Thompson taking on an organization made up exclusively of lawyers, in all probability far better than himself.

I find it funny that he is suing them for investigating whether he should be barred. Anyone expect him to not be barred immediately following the resolution of this case?
He basically just handed them all the evidence they need. :)

Well, not to fear, he can always practice law in, say, Azerbaijan. I hear they're pretty loose with their requirements.
