PRESS RELEASE:
AN OPEN LETTER TO MUSLIMS ONLY
(Please read and forward this message to as many Muslims as you can)
Dear Muslim Brothers and Sisters,
God forbid if any one of our near one and dear one is killed then the
killer is evil, a beast and what not and should get penalty but if one
among us kills anybody then he is not evil and we start lying, denying
or even justifying the killing.... double standards?
Being Muslims, many of our brothers and sisters are not working for
peace. They are misguided, mistaken and spreading the virus of hatred
and revenge through telling deliberate lies, disinformation and false
accusations, which is resulting in death and miseries for number of
innocent people living around the world at the hands of merciless
KILLER MUSLIMS and also bringing bad name to Mohammed (PBUH)
who never killed anyone in his life time.
Instead of teaching about Good & Evil, certain Radical Muslim Clerics
are only "Trading in Religion". They teach us about accusing, abusing
and killing the non-Muslims. They try to hypnotize us to Hate and Kill
the non-Muslims and brethren of other sects or be killed and without
using any common sense, we readily believe in whatever is being said
by these Hate Mongers. Actually, they are "Agents of Satan" who is
paying them heavily and in return they are cutting at the very roots
of the Ummah. Instead of "Mourning" most of the Muslims are rejoicing
on the brutal killings of the non-combatant innocent civilians and
"The Murderers" have always been "Our Great Heroes".
Before it is too late and the Curse Of God falls upon us, we should
use common sense, find out the TRUTH and must change ourselves
to save Muslims from becoming the most "Hated, Isolated, Discredited
and Suspicious" people in the world. We must start working for
promoting "Sectarian Harmony and Religious Tolerance" in the society
and should prove to the WORLD through our deeds that Islam is not a
religion of Zero Tolerance and Mohammed (PBUH) teaches "Love & Peace"
and not Gangsterism, Terrorism, Barbarism, Extremism, Sectarianism,
Cruelty, Inhumanity and "Hatred & Killing" of the innocent civilians.
Islam is a religion of peace. Islam teaches respect and love for all
even the animals. But many narrow-minded Muslims have so far failed
to learn anything good from the teachings of Mohammed (PBUH) who
preaches love for the peoples of all religions. We are far away from
the basic principle of Islam i.e. "Enjoining the people to do Good and
forbidding them from Doing Evil" and thus, possess no quality of the
civilized society. Unfortunately, many of us show Zero Tolerance
towards others and have wrongly learnt few thing to be called as good
Muslims and those are "hate" the non-Muslims and “Accusing, Abusing
and Cursing” the non-Muslims. ...act of madness?
The killing of others in the name of religion is a Sin. Can a FATHER
ever teach his Children to be the permanent Enemies of each other?
The time has come for us to stop readily believing in whatever is being
said, read and written by the LIARS / Hate Mongers. Unfortunately,
some misguided-Muslims believe that the Holy Koran and Holy Prophet
(PBUH) both have instructed Muslims that the opponents be KILLED
and that they are simply following the orders. We should use our own
common sense and only believe which is logical, convincing and in the
best interest of the humanity.
Why do we hate others so much, may be they are better humans then what
we are. My feeling is that the Muslims should unite to discredit and
deactivate the fringe mullahs (Preachers of Hate) who promise a quick
trip to paradise to people who have little and sacrifice themselves
with bombs strapped to their bodies. If the mullahs (THE LIARS)
thought that it really was a way to paradise they would be strapping
bombs to themselves! Their followers are kept too ignorant to see this
for themselves and enlightened Muslims should educate them. We must
promote understanding and peace. We are all watched by the same God
and need to help one another, not Hate and Hurt.
Our contention is that the WORLD should resolve the conflicts facing
the Muslim World to stop the terrorism. Unfortunately, all the
disputes facing the Muslim World are our self created. The root causes
of all the disputes are based on the Muslim Philosophy of Hate against
the non-Muslims. The Muslim literature, teachings and preaching are
spreading and injecting this hatred in hearts and minds of the Muslims.
Our intolerant behavior is further proved by the root causes of all
the pending conflicts that we (Muslims) cannot live side by side in
peace with the non-Muslims. All the disputes facing Muslim World can
be resolved easily, only if we (the Muslims) are able to condemn the
“Philosophy of Hate” created in us by our past and present elders who
have divided the peoples of the world in the name of “Religion, Cast
and Creed”.
Fellow Muslims! if God is one and he loves mankind, we should value
each others life and strive to protect each other than thinking that
if we kill we shall have reward. God looks at human beings not as
belonging to different religions, that is why the rain falls to all,
the sun shines to all and we all breathe the air freely. We are all
created or given life in the very same way- whether Muslim, Christian,
Hindu, Jew etc. Let us learn to love each other sincerely.
The change of heart and mind is possible to achieve if we keep up our
relentless efforts for a violence free and peaceful world. We need to
preach love, kindness and humanity with extremist devotion and
mission. The mullahs (THE LIARS) and the preachers of HATE must be
excommunicated at every level and we should stop giving them donations
as it is our money which is being used by them to spread HATRED for
killing of the innocents.
We must also stop dividing the World into Muslim and non-Muslim
blocks. Our political leaders and religious teachers must offer
positive ideas. Without the ability to imagine a better world, we
cannot build anything together. Tolerance of the beliefs of other
peoples in the world, warmth and friendship across racial cultures
MUST be the objective of all peace loving people worldwide. What is
being offered today through religion is “Death, Destruction and
Sufferings”.
MY PRAYER FOR PEACE:
Merciful God, please give to peoples of the world, the required wisdom
and determination, to Forgive and Forget the bitterness of the past
and learn to live in peace like brothers and sisters, by condemning
the divisions and hatreds created in us by our past and present elders.
(Amen)
Please Read And Circulate this Message For Peace. Thank you.

An Open Letter To
Osama bin Laden and Ayman Al-Zawahiri.
(Wherever You Are)
Aslam-o-Alaikum!
Do you know what degree of shame, abomination, misery and wretchedness
is being heaped on the innocent and peace-following Muslims all over
the world because of this so-called and self styled Jihad of yours?
Do you know how many innocent, unsullied people are being daily
butchered as result of this professed Jihad of yours? How many
children are being orphaned and women being widowed precisely for the
same reason.
And do you know, killing one faultless human being is like killing the
entire humanity. You must definitely be knowing that you will surely
be held accountable for this all bloodshed. Will you, then, be able to
face your God? I challenge, no!
Then, why have you become an agent of some hidden hand. Why are you
taking the responsibility of the murder of entire humanity to yourself
on his behest. Why are you dragging the Muslims down? Why are you
demeaning Islam by presenting it as a terrorist religion? Acting like
this, which religion are you rendering a great service to? Are you
raising the standard of Islam high or you (if you reflect on it) are
causing the heads of the followers of the path of the righteous bow
down with shame in-front of the entire humanity.
Today most of the Muslims believe that you are not a true Muslim but
planted by the enemies to destroy the image of Islam.
For God’s sake, take recourse to sense, and announce an Unconditional
Ceasefire at-once so the inhabitants of world may be introduced to that
divine aspect of the Muslims at whose hands no soul suffer, whose words
and actions bear no tinge of dichotomy, whose speech, when uttered,
conveys to others the message of love and protection, whose thoughts,
when thought, are devoted to the well being of others. Herein lies the
true success, and herein lies the victory of the true religion of
Allah.

CC:- Dear Muslims,
All those who connived with Osama must forswear. The people, who still
cooperate with Osama etc, will be the equal partners in the sin of
terrorism. All the criminal elements and their supporters cooperating
with Osama Bin Laden and other dissidents, who want to spread
lawlessness and anarchy in the fortress of Islam, have gone astray
from the righteous path of Islam and are terribly mistaken. They and
their supporters, who are the copartners in their hideous crime,
should recant for the sake of the glory of Islam. They should abjure
this path of evil and try to atone for all the repercussions of all
the wrongdoings they have committed so far.

Misdirected chain letter, most likely. Someone wants to type tehsizzler@... and types thesizler@..., that sort of thing.
surely it'd be more disturbing if they were asking you to blow something up?

I find it ironic that his name has pig-based connotations.

What I've seen with this is that the Muslim really depends on the environment. I haven't met a single Muslim where I live in Central Indiana that has been anywhere near the radical that someone in the Middle East would demonstrate (bear in mind that the Muslim 'capital' of America is just barely north in Michigan). They never exploded about the drawings of Mohammed and viciously condemn the suicide bombers, and I trust them with that.
But still, the Muslims in the Middle East... that's an entirely different story.
-
Which proves the extremist point that the luxuries of the western world detract from the worship of Allah.
Or, conversely, that people in piss-poor countries are whiney little hypocritical *****es who should be bombed into the sand upon which their mud huts are built.
-
I like the PBUHs sprinkled in there. :D
-
i don't understand, why is that letter disturbing?
it's one muslim trying to encourage his brothers to be nicer to other people, so that everyone else isn't so quick to judge them by the actions of a few of them.
like ive said before, it's like trying to judge all Christians by the KKK, or judging all Jews by the Israeli Military.
@CP: PBUH --> "Peace be upon him" it's the proper thing to do after mentioning the prophet Mohammed
@an0n: so you'd prefer to bomb the poor instead of helping them to be less poor?
-

Good point. Part of that environment is the education.
However, I'm guessing that a typical Muslim in the Western world is about as true a representative of Islam as a typical Christian is. What was it Shan-Yu (sp?) said in Firefly? "Live with a man 40 years. Share his house, his meals, speak on every subject. Then tie him up and hold him over the volcano's edge, and on that day, you will finally meet the man."
In communist China, where Christians are persecuted and under attack, you will find true Christians.
In Israel, when wars are waged against us, you will find true Jews.
Who do Muslims turn out to be when under attack?

Yes, I know what it is, but it still looks pretty funny coming up so often in that email.

@an0n: so you'd prefer to bomb the poor instead of helping them to be less poor?
If they start giving modernized nations **** - sure.
And if not, they should just be exploited for all they're worth.
If keeping them poor and making their lives **** means I can buy my own jet, then **** them.

It took you 982 posts to learn that?
-
To be fair, most of those posts were made in the an0n-free interval. But I just have to laugh my ass off at the appropriateness of Ford Prefect's post.
-
It's a basic concept of economics that for one man to be rich, another has to be poor.
For a manager to make money, he has to make workers do things, then give them less money for doing it that other people are giving him for making them do it.
The rich get richer, the poor get poorer.
I live a reasonably happy, healthy and safe life because people in other countries are kept dirt-poor by massive corporations, so they can supply me with goods and services cheap enough to lure me into buying them. And with a great enough gap between cost and value, that the CEOs of those companies can fly around in jets.
And you know what? Strangely enough, I'm okay with things that require no effort on my part and make my life better.

He used to be worse :)
Just accept an0n for an0n. He's the sort of guy that see's his truth and isn't afraid to let us all know what it is. It does tend to make sense even if its potentially different to your worldview or sensibilities. But its better that someone is saying something....so long as it doesn't cross some of the boundaries and lines that we've established in this forum. We're pretty open to discussion on sensitive issues but certain lines...stay back from those.
I got this e-mail at work...infact I got it on my personal e-mail and on two support e-mail addresses. I did read all of it...its interesting...its different...I'm not sure what to make of it. I do think that Muslims do need some positive reinforcement and rolemodeling (not sure if this is the guy to do it but its a valiant effort and very seemingly a well meaning one). What the western nations REALLY need to see is some Muslims who are normal, moderate, every day sort of people, who aren't above or below and who do their thing much like the rest of us. Unfortunately, the perception of the Western nations is perpetuated by the various terrorist actions in the 1970s and 1980s along with the hitting home sort of actions by the people who perpetrated 9/11 and by people like the infamous "shoe bomber" and so forth. Thats what is seen....consistently. And public opinion, particularly amongst less well educated (and even there), has sunk to new lows. Its a cycle really...
It will take a very long time for this cycle to break.
-
Who do Muslims turn out to be when under attack?
Good points in the whole post, but Muslims have been persecuted in the United States for a while, especially after 9-11, and many of them continue to go on with their lives as upstanding Americans, despite the Christians and hot-headed, red-blooded Americans looking down at them at every turn. Muslims in the Middle East aren't being "persecuted" per se (they own the entire region anyway) as much as they are a desert people whose leaders exploit Islam for their own gains or in hatred of people around them. Religion's a very powerful weapon.
Icefire's post is a lot more eloquent than mine, though, and he pretty much sums up my argument a lot better.

Dear Sir,
Sorry for the inconvenience as the wrong mail was sent
to you.
I am an activist for peace and just sowing the “Seeds
of Peace” by sending email messages.
MY MESSAGE FOR PEACE AND HARMONY (For All)
Dear brothers & sisters,
We all need to pray for one another, and to love one
another. We should always pray for the safety, peace,
love and brotherhood for people all over the world.
Too bad we can't have an independence day for the
entire world. A day of freedom from ignorance, hatred,
war, illusions, power and control. A day where we can
all love each other as human beings and toss away the
weapons of war, and cast out our fears and hatreds
from our hearts into the graves. We must mourn the
graves of the innocents all over the world, and give
the children of the world the hope of a peaceful,
loving and beautiful world.
A world full of love and without hatred or fear. A
world where we can join hands together and accept one
another, regardless of our skin color, ethnic
divisions, religion or nationality. If we don't unite
as a human race, then we have condemned the future
generation of children a dark and very grim future.
Think of love, compassion and peace always...
MY PRAYER FOR PEACE AND HARMONY
Merciful God, You made all of the people of the world
in Your own image and placed before us the pathway of
salvation through different Preachers who claimed to
have been Your Saints and Prophets. But, the
contradictions (made by us) in the interpretation of
Your teachings have resulted in creating divisions,
faith based hatreds and bloodshed in the world
community. Millions of innocent men, women and
children have so far been brutally killed by the
militants of several religions who have been
committing horrifying crimes against humanity and
millions more would not be butchered by them in the
future, if You guide and help us find ways to reunite
peacefully.
IN THE NAME OF GOD, THE COMPASSIONATE, THE MERCIFUL,
look with compassion on the whole human family; take
away the controversial teachings of arrogance,
divisions and hatreds which have badly infected our
hearts; break down the walls that separate us; reunite
us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and
confusion to accomplish Your purposes on earth; that,
in Your good time, all nations and races could jointly
serve You in justice, peace and harmony. (Amen)

I dunno, I always thought that was a pretty ****ty way of thinking... it tends towards broad generalizations. I don't think that's how you meant it, but that's how one could see it.
-
Can you really define a 'true Muslim' or 'true Christian', etc that easily?
I'd note, though, that all religions are under attack in China as a threat to the cult of the leader which Communist countries build. That does include Muslims. Of course, because they are Muslims and we have the raging suicide bomber stereotype nowadays it's much easier for the Chinese government to declare them terrorists and ban, oppress, or execute them.
I think it's important to remember the geopolitical differences here, though. for example, the dominant power - only superpower - is a Christian country who is allied to Israel (due to what you might call a moral obligation following the crimes of WW2 and the failure of all allied nations to notice them quickly enough). Wheareas the causes of Islamic terrorist atrocities - and this is no excuse for them - are based within small, poverty stricken countries with no allies or at best allies who are unable to lend any direct intervention. So obviously - and this is the main frame of reference IMO because the situation is pretty common in the China example - you're going to react differently to a perceived threat or oppression based on whether you have a fleet of Apaches or just some battered AK-47s.

Yeah, they're just pissy because while all our ancestors were off inventing lightbulbs and state-funded healthcare, theirs were kneeling in the sand praying to Allah and ****ing camels.
It's classic civilization-envy. It's why all the barbarian hordes kept attacking Rome. They think if they topple the leadership they can just step in and take control of all the fancy Roman magic - not realising that the strength of the nation is systemic and stems from the leadership.

actually, while your ancestors were sitting around, picking their noses, and catching plague for about 800 years, my ancestors were busy creating one of the greatest empires the world had seen at that point, and advancing the areas of science and medicine. I got nothing specific against Islam - well, any more than I have against any religion.
It's the Arab tards who follow it that I got a problem with. I just ****ing despise anyone who thinks marching and protesting and holding rallies is a legitimate form of expression.
If you're that pissed off about something, start a ****ing riot, try to improve the situation through legitimate means or shut the **** up and go back to boinking camels.
Protestors are pussies. They're the kind of people who'll only stand up as part of a group and spend the rest of their days sitting, whining about western oppression while they tell their wife to go clean the ****ing kitchen.

Presumably if anon had a wife he'd be cleaning the kitchen for her, then.

I'm too tired to pretend I care enough to argue.
Sufficed to say, there's always a reason for people being poor.
-
And there's always a reason for people being twats.
-
I agree.
-
Every civilization and culture that has ever existed has always had its beggars. I guess nowadays it depends on how you define 'poor' and where the 'poor' live. Throwing money at poverty has never fixed it. Creating a free market environment where hard work is rewarded and sloth is heavily frowned upon there will be less poor. Seems that nowadays people feel better about themselves if they throw billions of $ at poverty like the 'war on poverty' thats been waging for 60 years in America. Giving them money is like acceptance for being poor and keeps them poor. Even still there are structurally poor people who are druggies, dont care to work, lazy or all of the above. In poor countries they are kept poor by the dictatorial warlords.
-
*breaks out the sticks and hotdogs*
Ooh, this is heating up pretty good.

Keep in mind folks that historically the Middle East is the cradle of human civilization as thats where most of the wandering tribes really got organized. Remember that Babylon, a well recognized civilization in human history is located in modern day Iraq.
Just because things a very bad right now doesn't mean that it always was. Remember that 60 years ago Europe was embroiled in what some historians call a "European civil war" and things were very unstable. Worse than they are right now I think. Many more people died on a daily, monthly, yearly basis during the years between the beginning of the 20th century until the end of the 1940s. Millions died during this time. So lets not get quite all superior...it wasn't that long ago that the European/Judaeo/Christians were fighting each other (and I'm making a generalization for simplicy sake, I'm not trying to exclude anyone from that particular strife).
Personally I think the Middle East is in many ways, going through what Europe has already been through. Europeans have partially (not completely and not forever) lost their taste for war. Things have been relatively peaceful in western and central Europe. Far eastern Europe is not the same thing...but things are starting to stabilize there. Its going to take some time. The Middle East will eventually stabilize...given time....it may take a while. It may not be in our lifetimes...but eventually the common person on the street will be so affected and realize that after fighting for so long that maybe its time to put down the guns for a little while and figure out something more long lasting. I have some hope in that possibility...but there is plenty of fight left and far too many radicals in power with nothing to loose and everything to gain by sacrificing themselves or others to their cause. When that seems less palatable...then there will be progress.
But like I said right now...in the West...Muslims do not have a good reputation based on what people have seen in the news. And whats more newsworthy than people dying...thats what the news editors think and I don't think they have been too diliberate across the board to paint the wrong sort of picture. But put this in perspective...if a bunch of white, blue eyed, blonde haired european background (I mean Americans, Canadians, British, French, German, whatever - genetics by location, nothing else) men showed up consistently on the media whearing yellow hats and blew people up, rammed planes into tall buildings in the Middle East. What sort of picture would they have there? Probably the same one that the West has right now. Its a 'us' and 'them'...the West see's itself as a legitimate military force that plays by certain rules (albeit individually sometimes not - such as the various prison scandals) and the Iraqi's and others see themselves as the oppressed fighting against an enemy with all of the money, power, and advantage.
Perspective is everything.
-
FYI, the worlds greatest libraries, and earliest scientific achievements came from the Middle East... Not that bloody Empire that tried to rewrite history.
-
Yeah and for all their intelligence and sophistication they still got ploughed under by the might of the British Empire.
**** them. They lost. They should deal with it.
-
*Looks at the current size of the British empire*
Hmm.
-
People rejected Imperial control, so now our interests are administered to by economic pressures and actions by our intelligence services.
The Commonwealth still tows the line, as we move behind the scenes - but the price of their placidity is the loss of our due tribute.
A price that sadly must be paid.
-

Yep but thats pretty much where they stopped. When Islam conquered Alexandria, they destroyed the library because 'if its in the Koran we already have it and if its not, its not worth reading.'
-
Yep but thats pretty much where they stopped. When Islam conquered Alexandria, they destroyed the library because 'if its in the Koran we already have it and if its not, its not worth reading.'
After the christians had destroyed most of it for pretty much the same reason.
-

That, and Imperialism was highly-frowned on by the Allies by the end of the Second World War, being one of the causes of the two most devastating wars in Europe's recent history.
The balance of power between East and West shifts at different points in history. Human civilization thrived in the Middle East under the ancient civilizations, and then Rome rose. After Rome, the Middle East and China became the superpowers in the world. After the Ottoman Empire's decline and self-imposed isolationism as well as the Renaissance, the West took over again. The tables will change again at some point; maybe not for hundreds of years, but it eventually will.
-
That's a nice textbook answer, but in reality, things are a little different...

its happening now

That, and Imperialism was highly-frowned on by the Allies by the end of the Second World War, being one of the causes of the two most devastating wars in Europe's recent history.
Not entirely, the only Allies that didn't like Imperialism were the Americans and that was simply because a) the US public had this pop-history view of the Empire as being some sort of maurading evil force they had once overthrown, and b) the US needed to weaken British overseas power to build up their own.
The Empire would've worked, had it gone federalist before the US revolution.

The Empire would've worked if we'd had MI6 hijack the Manhattan Project, mass-produce crude nuclear weapons and launch them at the US from secret installations in Western Russia.
The nuclear conflict would've taken place as far from British soil as humanly possible and annihilated the two greatest military powers left after WW2 ended.

Fallout.
Also, both Canada and India in particular would have been facing ruin. 'Britain' would be, at best, restricted to a small inhabitable area outside irradiated mainland europe. Australia would go on - probably stronger than the UK - and be able to assert independence rather easily, China would have no real blocks to go on and progress beyond it's current influence in reduced time, and British trade revenues would also vanish due to the loss of the US and most of europe as markets.
Is what comes to mind.

its happening now
India and China will become the new world leaders
China perhaps, India when we outsource government to there. ;)

Still, we would have at least had an interesting history beyond WWII. I mean, the small sporadic proxy-conflicts of the cold war are all well and good, but a Nuclear War would have really spiced up Modern History class.

Dude, most likely there wouldn't have been modern history classes as we have enjoyed the privilege to have them, so the question of "spicing them up" is quite hypothetical at best.
Instead that time would probably have been used to growing or otherwise... aquiring... food. At least, for most survivors that would probably have been the case. At the worst case anyway. Oh well.
