Title: Are there any active Shivan campaigns?

I'm just wondering, are there any shivan campains that are active? If not, I'd like to try my hand at it (just got most shivan ships to work, but can't choose them inmission :/ )

And yes, I have read the other thread on page 2, but those didn't seem to be..... active (looked good, but didn't look active).


What do you guys think? A shivan campaign from a long time FS fan with lots of energy?

Hidden Terror is AFAIK the only Shivan campaign, but it's dead.

Well, thats both good news (or me) and bad news (for all of us).

I'll make a Shivan campaign then.I've already got all non-super heavy (Seraphims ect) working with weapons (but their weak by default). I think I'll end up having to do it with SCP, as the 3d models keep it from crashing in ship and weapon selection (tried already).

Unfortionetly, my modding skill is still basic at best (still learning..... well.... relearning), so unless someone volunteers (HINT HINT :D )  there won't be seriphims or Nephilims (due to weapon selection beeing to big for the HUD).

Now the story............. tihnking that it should be the same time as the events in retail FS2, starting with the nebula campaign. I can handle to lack of motives by the shivans by keeping them from the player (unless we get a large majority agreeing with 1 motive), while still maintaining the depth of the game that was offered in retail (I hope I'm that good). Of course, I'll have to keep the player away from "alpha 1".

I'm also open suggestions :) .

How would you get the Dragon to work? Use it in the same way as in FS1? Or figure out a way to use it's lateral thrusters?

Already got the dragon working. All I had to do was add the flags "player_allowed" and "default_player_ship". Aside from that, and modifying the weapon banks to allow for Shivan primaries with player controled ships (no weapon diffrences, just enables player use), it's the same dragon the computer uses. It moves the same, speed is the same, and weapons are the same.

And there is no way I'd allow an advanced starfighter, like the dragon, to reach a top speed of 95mps (with burn, bleh).


Oh, beware though, by default, shivan primaries are weak, which I guess means that you have lots of allies :D But not too many.


[EDIT] Unless I can figure out how to remove weapon banks, the Seriphem and Nephilim will likely not be use, due to the weapon's in the HUD not showing anymore then 2 primaries and 3 missile banks. May not be a big deal, as they'd have only bombs, but you can't see, nor switch them. [/EDIT]

I just imported the tables into the SCP (Sivan's full SCP download thing), and I've been able to resolve the couple bugs that popped up :D So, when I get it release, you'll have to enable 3D model view to keep the game from crashing when you try to change weapons, or ships.  It's quite fun to fly he dragon. I'll release a "demo" in a week or so (problems pending, not a "frim date"). Won't be much at that point. I still got to get a microphone and an audio adjuster thing to change my voice (unless you want to use the voice synthisizer), of course, that's just for campaign depth.


[EDIT] Small update, turns out that the SCP allows for more weapon banks (something I didn't know 'till now), Unfortionetly, the game still crashes when trying to load more then 3 weapon banks in weapon selection, and you cannot switch secondary weapons (i'll build that into the plot line somehow), and the really heavy bombers (Seriphim and Nephilim) are only available in scramble mission due to this :( [/EDIT]
