Anyone want to offer some tips/advice?
Tracking this guy has turned out to be harder than I thought. I'd be happy to just block the origin server and let him send Emails that never get to me, but the domain is always fake and changes every time. That wouldn't be too bad, but the origin IP address hasn't been the same twice since I started keeping track. I know that it's the same guy, though- the actual Emails are all identical, asking me to call a 1-800 number for a free diploma.
I've only found one IP in each of the headers, but like I said, they've changed each time. Here's what I've got so far...
194.129.210.211 proxy.valleymedia.co.uk
194.98.146.82
196.40.35.206 ip206.ct.co.cr
I tried to reverse-lookup the second address, but last time I tried I got a timeout. The other two are both proxy servers, which really doesn't help me much- it appears that as far as the Hotmail server is concerned, the proxy servers sent the message. Unless I'm missing something(or Hotmail isn't telling me everything it's getting) I can't trace the IP behind the proxy.
My best guess right now is that whoever is sending these is using proxy servers to make it impossible to trace the correct origin address.
The question is: what do I do from here? Have I missed anything? I don't necessarily want to track this guy down, but I'm tired of getting this junk all the time, and I'm starting to run out of ideas. Any help or insight would be appreciated. On a side note- anyone ever try to trace a spammer? Any success stories?

I know there is a method, but all I see is madness.

If it gets to bad you simple send him a caution email (keep a copy for reference) then report him to your email providor. If that turns up a blank you call in whatever law inforcement there is in your area and have them deal with it as harrasment.
Probably holes in that plan... but it's what I'd do (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Why not try to block the ports i use a port scanner i type in the IP number scan the port and block it,most of the time it works but not always. I never tryed it whit proxiservers.
