Title: Freespace 1 won't start

Hi everybody....

Just downloaded and played throug the Freespace 2 pack by Shivan_SpS so I thought I would play through the orignal Freespace 1 campaign however with proper audio in the brefings and so on(even thoug it wont look as good) since I have the Orignal Freespace: The Great War on CD aswell as The Silent Threat but I cant get it to start under windows XP has anybody else had this problem or is it just me......(it simply dosent start...)

You can get the port to have proper audio etc AFAIK.

But as for your problem with Freespace have you patched it to 1.06? Cause installing Silent Threat degrades you to 1.04.

Well the port that was in the pack that I downloaded used Microsoft Sam in mission briefs and so on but if there is another port or patch could someone tell me where to get it(on with proper audio) and as for the second no couldent find the patch(didnt look to long thoug....

The port version in ShivanSPS's pack was superceeded by v3.03 a month or so after he released it. Check the Freespace Conversion forum here on HLP for links to the new version. (Although I believe you can have voice with the old version too).

Personally i like the feel of the classic freespace better. It just makes it feel more authentic.
