Mmmmmmmmm!! Was never that interested in WoW, but this is like climbing inside something from my youth :D
Very much looking forward to it....

I was never interested much in Warhammer fantasy. I was actually disappointed when I saw a preview for the game on GameSpy a few weeks ago. I was hoping it was going to be a WH40K game.

As long as I can train up to be a Dwarven Runesmith and create my own Magic weapons, I'll be happy :) Either that or a Vampire.
The Steampunk side of 40K seems to appeal to most players of Warhammer, but I always enjoyed playing Fantasy, but then, I'm more a fan of Total War type games than, say, Ground Control 1 type games :) Besides, there was nothing like a huge horde of Night Goblins with fanatics for reducing your enemies favourite cavalry to pulp.
It could go either way, I guess, but I'm looking forward to seeing what happens, as long as they include the special classes, such as Dwarven Beserkers and Beastslayers, Tomb Kings, Silver Helms etc, I think it could be very good indeed ;)

I can really barely stand 40k tabletop, and Fantasy not at all. The only reason the game's even vaguely palatable to me is the Tau (although, as a sucker for power armor, I must admit a certain fondness for Terminators), who play like they're, you know, past the gunpowder age. The Tau are, really, Games Workshop's attempt to attract people who played games like BattleTech or Steel Panthers. They fight like a much more modern force then the other 40K armies. That's why I can stand them. (And incidentally why I can't stand MWDA...)

The downside about Fantasy was the ridiculous number of dice you had to roll for combat, you may as well just bowl them at the unit you're attacking and see what falls over.

A Warhammer 40k MMO would be so... awesome :)

Agreed, I'm suprised that - despite its somewhat geeky image - the tabletop game hasn't seen more conversions into the computer game arena. It was begging for an RTS long before the RTS actually came along... And a Halo-like FPS would be nice too.

That's what I meant :p
Edit: Oh, and for what it's worth:

I still think a Starcraft MMORPG would be better.
Especially if they tied the servers to WoW and let you march a platoon of Terran Marines into Azeroth.
And how cool would a Zerg-infested Undead be?

i can see the class imbalance now, most people would be playing ghosts.

Yeah, but you could balance it out by letting Marine players play as a whole squad.
