Thats for damn sure. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) And ontop of that, B5 actually has humor! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
Ivanova: So, what's the plan?
Sheridan: To stay alive as long as possible.
Ivanova: Great...

Not to mention the fact that B5 is just about the only show ever to actually try and make the tech ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE.
I'd heard rumors that Enterprise was going to try and get away from the treknobabble solutions to every problem, but the three episodes I watched to give the show a chance were just as full of missappropriated physics jargon as ST has ever been.
I suppose its only to be expected that a TV culture that creates things like "Worlds Funniest Police Chases" isn't going to be able to handle a show with more than two brain cells to rub together.
-
Hey! Don't diss UPN, they carry ST:E and they're the only GOOD local cable service where I live.
-
wow thats really lame then.
-
Man, you have no idea what lame is (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif).
Our local news channel's weather report consists of nothing more than a guy pointing a stick at a coloured in hurricane tracking map, and a camera operator who doesn't seem to know when to shut off the camera.

TNG and DS9 weren't anywhere near as bad as Voyager and "Enterprise". TNG phyics were actually based upon REAL physics, believe it or not. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) That is until Berman got a taste of power...then Brannon Braga hopped on-board and now Trek is nothing but a sinking ship... Riiiiiiiiiight...
That's why we have creatures that spawn in black holes, anyon particles, and the amazing floating phalanx robots. Quite realistic indeed...

Like I said, it was based on actual physics. Hell, they even explained how some stuff in the show happened in the TV special called "The Physics of Star Trek". Granted, it was just promoting the book, but they explained somewhat how warp works, etc.

And how many people believed the thingy about the warp?

Well, I don't think a lot of people bought it. But if the way it was explained was accurate, then the General Theory of Relativity does allow for it to happen under special circumstances.

I know, I've got that book (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)
Never laughed so much in my life! (j/k)
Actually, the book did more to explain why ST was full of monkey than it did to justify thier conventions.
-
Personally, I also prefer the ship design of B5 over star trek... even the Vree's saucers are better looking than those old hunka junks (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif) (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)

Okay, comparisons between B5 and Star Trek shows aside, I REALLY have to know...
WTF is the deal behind the B5 picture??? This thing is real HOW?
No flames, please. There's gotta be a story behind this pic, I just want to know what it is.

I think the title is pretty clear. I suppose B5 has been cancelled by UPN, and the actors don't seem to completly support UPN on this... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
-
Either that or they all got asked to show the camera crew how good they're makeup artists were at manicures....
...I'll get my coat.

Yeah, I don't think I can really blame the actors on this decision either. I was kinda hoping there would be a longer story about this, but it does seem kinda self-explanatory...
I dunno, for some reason, that pic amuses me and disturbs me at the same time, and there's something unsettling about that...
After all, I thought these actors were trained professionals and it's unsettling to see them behaving in such an...unprofessional manner...

Actually, they mood on the B5 set is very relaxed. They constantly poke fun at eachother, etc. They all got along great. They did that pic because they found the idea hilarious.
