Title: PC-BSD
Post by: Fury on May 06, 2006, 06:55:09 am
PC-BSD (http://www.pcbsd.org/?p=pcbsd) 1.0 was released April 29th, thought I'd inform the populace here about it since BSD is getting little coverage here as compared to linux. Having installed it only a while back, I haven't done much with it yet. But it seems to be quite solid OS, the new PBI packaging system also is very easy to use. Was about time for BSD to become more end-user friendly, PC-BSD is definitely worth a try. :)

If it compiles on FreeBSD, it should also compile on PC-BSD. The question would be; does it compile on FreeBSD? :p

Might have to give this a try sometime. I've been meaning to get myself some UNIX experience and BSD seems like as good a place to start as any.
