Title: Photoshop nightvision render
Post by: Sandwich on November 01, 2001, 07:05:00 pm
I got the idea for this from Thunder's nightvision display (//"http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/Forum13/HTML/001228.html"). He used a plug-in for Photoshop, but I wanted to see what kind of effect I could get manually. So, no plug-in's were harmed during the filming of this movi...oops, sorry.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)

I get it- it's night, so it's dark, so you can't see anything!  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

The Nightvision plugin looks like you could get it in 5 minutes with other plugins I already have or 15 minutes with heavy skill... oh well, getting it anyway!

It looks nice  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) Though I gather it would be just a colorise path away from this...  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Yep, mine's manual too - I always disliked having to rely on plug-ins  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Agreed, but then I spent a grand total of 15 seconds rendering the Lucifer, 10 seocnds cutting it out, another 10 on the background and a final 5 applying the nightvision plugin to show what potential it had. You want a proper render with it? I'll do it later if I can be bothered to do it for you.

In the meantime, thats a pretty good render sandwich! nice one  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
