Believe it or not, this is for a maths lesson I'm planning to deliver to a year 7 class. I'm going to tell the class a story before I get to teaching them about multiplication of fractions...
So, I'm trying to think of a really ugly name for a woman, specifically the one pictured below. My imagination's a bit broke at the moment, so the best I can think of is "Bertha" (which is more 'fat' than 'ugly'). So can you guys help me out? :p

These are all pretty good at the moment. Now I'm having a hard time choosing. ;) Well, at least I've got some options. Thanks guys. Will post up the final product when it's ready and you can see what all your efforts were pitching towards.

Karpo-Hannele

Bethel.

Brunehilde
That depends. If it's the TV movie than it's Kristanna Loken. But if it's the opera, then it's probably a fat lady.

Bertha or Gerthrude would do....

How about Pat? Not Patricia or Patrice or anything. Just vanillia old Pat. That way, it's ambigous enough to let people make up their mind if they can't tell its a man or a woman or a THING.

Helga.
Matilda.

You got that from SNL, didn't you?
C'mon people, put some effort into it! Search deep in the dark, forbidden corners of your twisted heart, and try to remember the name of your 9th grade math teacher.
-
Yeah, I got it from SNL. And my ninth grade math teacher? HIS name was Mitchell Veith... Good guy, he's actually my neighbor. It wasn't that bad having my math teacher next door, actually.

Did you not read my first post? ;)
I'm leaning towards Mildred at the moment. Trust Goob to come up with a whole list of them. :D

Gertrude was always equally revolting.

Giving an ugly character an ugly name is really quite... obvious, don't you think?

I think that's the point.

Estella. Wait, she was really hot.. but also heartless. Ugly on the inside ok?

I think that's the point.
The point is to approach the problem in the maximally unimaginative way?
Whatever you say, Poochie.

Why do you care? Why? Is your world going to collapse if a story involving - gasp - an ugly women involves a name with ugly connotations? It's not ****ing avant-garde art here. It's not the turner bloody prize (thank christ). Did you even read what Setekh was intending to do? Or did you just blaze in with the stereotypical snide wee comment as per usual?
-
That's what I like about ZB though, you can always expect the usual.

Mildred Prunella Scugwurthy

Fyyrten Drachenbuns

-
Aldo's right - it's just meant to be cheesy, an ugly name for an ugly woman. Well, that was the idea.
Well, here's the fruit of my labour. It's just a little pair of worksheets for a year 7 class to teach them fractions. Good fun for all. :)
