....
What the ****. Really, the RIAA is just ****in INSANE. I mean, ****... People used too (and for all I know, still do) tape songs off the radio. So, does that make nomral radio stations pirates too?

RIAA, MPAA and whatever are fighting a lost war. Ultimately they cannot change how people want to listen to music, watch movies, etc. Old habits are dying as new technology brings more convenient alternatives. This time however, everything has changed so fast that industry haven't had any chance to adapt to changes and figure out new business models around these changes. Unfortunately all RIAA and co. does is slow down the industry's adaptability, they are gnawing their own leg. It is really sad.

I'm glad the Library has an adequte supply of music, because I really doubt (hope?) the RIAA has the audacity to sue public libraries.
-
Don't give them ideas. They'll use them.

Whenever I read such articles about the RIAA suing somone, I get the mental image of a little retarded boy screaming in rage because somebody took his candy bar...

Imagine a fat little boy screaming in rage because he thinks someone has taken his choccy bar, when he's actually sitting next to a mountain of confectionary.

But he really, really wants the one that was taken from him. He's not interested in the huge pile of potential sweet goodness right beside him ..... if he would just turn around.

Well, he doesn't know that one was taken from him. He thinks one might have been taken from him. And he blames you for it.

Hence the image of a retarded little brat, screaming in a equally retarded voice: "Gimme Gimme Gimme !!!!!"

That's unfair on retarded peeps, though - I'm sure they would feel insulted by association with the RIAA.

I sure would.
