You're slacking off, man.  I expect a 20-hour day tomorrow to make up for the 5 hours you lost.

The question is why.

A report came out that said Canadians (and North Americans in general) spend more of their lives working than any of the other major nations.  We don't even take our allotted vacation time when its given to us.  I'm only in my first year of work and I'm desperately attempting to make sure I have as much fun and entertainment at work as possible.  Productivity comes in many ways and many forms and time spent not doing work can mean time spent doing work being twice as effective.

But then I'm preaching to the converted here...

meat packing plant, it's memorial day week, that's our christmas, busiest week of the year, and being that it is 5:09am it's time for me to get back to work, in three days I have worked about 37 hours. today we have a single order that's larger than our plant's production record (nearly 3 tons of brats, that will be 22 250lb batches, we need to make nearly 3 batches an hour to get this done) then I have to clean everything.

It could be worse. I mean, you could work in a factory that packages multiple brands of Fudge and Fudge Accessories. Every time someone asks you what your job is... well, you get it. :D

As someone stuck in a production-style job, I sympathize.  Holidays SUCK.  But I've yet to work overtime days like that consecutively.  You're gonna be a filthy rich man soon (hopefully).

Sounds like a part time hobby kj wouldn't mind having - spending time with lots of meat :D

Are you?  Naked men or women or both?  Hmmm, that actually reminds me of a photographer who takes pictures of naked people.  What's his name...?

Man, I've worked in various food packaging plants for a bit. Let's say three weeks, all told. And I wouldn't wish that on my enemy. Bob, you need to get yourself a new job. From what I've seen of your programming skills, there are more rewarding careers out there.

just got home today was the worst yet, got there at 6:00 am didn't leave till 10:00 pm. and I'm not even done with my job there, I got out so very early because my boss was so very very kind hearted (the sad thing is I'm not being sarcastic at all) as to let me leave after only cleaning the one room. there was still another four hours of work left for me that I'll have to take care of tomarow after it's had all night to harden on. it's like fighting a war with an unstopable force of nature, I just keep loseing room after room, now there is only P2 left, the last bastion of shimering production, but it's only a mater of time before she too falls before the great plauge... of meat.

I will be makeing about $600 this week, yay me.

i made 900 in a weel a few weeks ago, and i think i put in at most 35 hours. i done got paid and spent half of it on a 60 gig ipod video, and the remainder on bills/groceries. i worked 2 more hard weeks and im due for another big check here on monday, but the last 3 weeks ive been slacking off big time. i tend to put together 15-20 bikes a day, laugh at the cheap chineese welds (realizing i probibly make more than their whole assembly line does), curse the dreaded brake and derailer systems that never seem to work right without major tweeking. of course i charge em a repair fee for as much stupid **** as i can, missing innertube caps, broken reflectors, or lost screws/bolts/nuts at about $5 each. if they were ****ed up in shiping i can make more, forks and rims get bent and i ger 7.50 for each of those i fix. also make bookoo bucks on refirbishing returns. of course i get 6 bucks a bike, and on a good day i can do 4 or 5 an hour. everyone thinks i have the coolest job, but all the bending is****ing up my back, and i kill a bottle of asprin every week. isnt work fun?
