i just saw the movie "gummo", it has arguably got to be the most disturbing piece of film ive seen. it was also a beautiful masterpiece. in the event that perhaps there is a sicker, darker, more nihilistic piece of film art out there, i request that everyone posts the titles of their favorite dark sicko films. as if i wasnt nihilistic enough. i need more!!!!

Failing that, Requiem For A Dream. It wasn't necessarily sick as such but I felt pretty damn awful afterwards...

5 minutes ago I finished watching Bloodrayne (first and last time) and I'm currently so pissed my head isn't working properly. But movies like that are somewhat disgusting and sick.
Most disgusting (graphically) would be a movie where animals or humans would be violated in a sick way. I can't really think of any becasue I tend to forget such movies quickly. But movies like Bad Taste or various zombi movies aren't really disgusting. Flying bowles are funny, not disgusting (but some would call them sick).

I'm not in the habit of watching "sick" movies. But there's one scene in this obscure little movie called Wonderland (Val Kilmer FTW) that's basically a home invasion and everybody gets their heads beat in with pipes. That's graphically disturbing. As for emotionally...I would say Requiem for a Dream, maybe the last few bits of Pi.
Nuke: if you want dark and nihilistic, go find a copy of a Serbian film called Pretty Village Pretty Flame.

You mean DARPA, right? I mean, i've never heard of NASA being interested in the utterly mundane and pointless, like that Fireman Catapult we ridiculed a while back. A microwave such as the one you're describing sounds definintely like DARPA territory. :rolleyes:

My friend had me watch a scene from Cube 2 where some guy gets.. ehh.. melted. I'm sure there's/I've seen worse, but it's all I can think of at the moment.

The one with V-Ger with a bald chick in a short skirt and the giant cloud of doom) where the transporters malfunction. When the people start forming there's the blurry "thing", and the inhumane scream. :shaking:
I was pretty young when I saw it, so it has really sunken in to my mind. The malformed human form. The horrible scream. I'll never forget it.
The rest of the movie was pretty lame (light-blue pajamas as uniforms :ick: ).

2 was KHAAAAAAAAAAN -this is a good one (lots of fun when drunk)
3 was very forgettable -mediocre
4 was the one with the whales -i love this one
5 was crap (directed by william shatner) -bleh
6 was political (i watched it when i was young and didnt understand it, and i havent watched it since)

I remember when I was little I watched The Empire Strikes Back, and there's the scene where Han Solo is gets zapped/sparked/drugged or something before the carbonite.. ever since then I have a hard time sitting through that scene without squirming.. he did a good job of screaming. *shudder* :shaking: :sigh:

starship troopers made me laugh, i wouldnt call it overly disturbed though. the lynch version of dune had some rather disturbing scenes, i loved the spacing guild. the harkonen family was rather disturbing as well. but thats scifi and i dont think it counts, as it was telling a story and not expressing a nihilistic idea. i think fight club is a good example of a mainstream movie capable of causing mental damage to anyone that watches it, but its nothing compaired to some of the flicks out of the indie circuit. the movie spun was pretty ****ed up, but i dont think i caught the ending. gummo now was probibly the most ****ed up thing i had ever seen. it had no plot, no real story to tell but rather served to cast a dark shadow on the human race, showing its true black nature.

Lynch added a lot of unneeded crap in his film version, the disgustingness of the Baron was one thing that just made me think, "What the hell is this in aid of?"
Also melting hand inside the box, say what? It's all in his head there's no need to visualise it.
I like his film version, still one of my fave ones, even though some of the unnessesary additions left a bitter taste in my mouth. But I'm a sucker for Dune anyway.

Also, I object to your phrase "good nudity scene". It's too oxymoronic. There are no good nudity scenes in mainstream movies, not for the last 40 years.
Also, sickest movie is "The Saddest Music in the World". Guy asks woman: "Why, are you a Canadian?" "No, I'm a nymphomaniac." I sort of left after a short while though.

event horizon is one of those movies that just kicks ass. the interior of that ship was just brutally awesome, people without eyes was cool too. but it just doesnt say "you humans are pathetic and you should kill yourselfs" like a true sicko movie should.

Anyway, I haven't actually seen her naked. My initial post didn't imply that I have. If and when I do, I'll make sure to report on any change in my opinions. Until then, I don't see why you are surprised that I don't fall down (+something else goes up) fainting at today's nudity scenes.

The curbside head-stomp in American History X was pretty brutal, but the movie itself wasn't "sick". I tend to shy away from "sick" movies... I did see Cube (the first one), that was pretty harsh.
...oh, wait, sorry, no contest, I remembered: Battlefield Earth. :ick:

I thought American History X was a really good movie, myself. Been a while since I watched it - years really - but I remember it making a really good point about the futulity and pointless nature of racism, and how it simply circles back to hurt people.

The reminds me; Tank Girl. The stupidest, most moronic vomit-inducing film i've ever had the displeasure to see, almost as bad as RE:A.. talking Kangaroo people my f***ing arse. Why Malcolm McDowell - who ****ing rocks - stooped so low as to be in it i'll never know.

The new TMNT cartoon series looks much better than the old "Hero Turtles" one :rolleyes:. Anyone ever see the Cadillacs and Dinosaurs cartoon that was awesome, and cancelled after one short run. Why does that happen so often to cool shows? The Battletech cartoon series was good too and was pretty ambitious for a kids' series. Oh yeah this is a sick movie thread.
Battlefield Earth did actually make me feel sick. Having to sit through the BRITS awards presented by Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood did seriously make me sick though. I felt so ill after that show. I think it had something to do with psychological abuse affecting my physical being. Like when you get hurt in the Matrix and you bleed in reality.
I didn't do a very good job of staying on topic there did I.

For example, Transformers: The Movie, or The Never-Ending Story, etc. Movie that, if you rewatch them decades down the line, you wonder whatever you were thinking when you first saw and liked them.

I had a problem with the transformer that was supposed to be a cassette player. Mainly that when transformed into said mode the cassette player was as big as Optimus Prime's truck.
