Q: Do your view your lawsuits, even ones where you sued a 12-year-old girl or a Boston grandmother, as a success overall and do you think the process is working?
Sherman: Yes. We're feeling pretty good. There will be the opportunity for business models that are consistent with P2P networks (such as demo versions or low quality). There have been a lot of conversations recently about ad-supported models.
Bainwol: Now there is additional legal clarity.
That one says it all......

So far I care little about the suffering of americans. But those bastards are well on their way in brainwashing the proud people of the United States of America. And once that's done, they will start spreading their influence in to the free world. And when that happens, I will learn how to make car bombs.
Are there no decent rich people in the world? Or is power really that corruptive? Lets make a test. And I'll volunteer to be the test subject. You all gather me an amout of 500.000.000.000 € and then we'll see if I become a greedy oppressive bastard. Deal?

By suggesting such a large number you've already proved yourself greedy and thus invalidated the entire argument :p

Heh, well, till they come up with a viable way of dealing with Filesharing and P2P software, they will continue profiting on peoples fears and ignorance. Eventually it will come to a head, once it becomes apparent that chasing P2P downloaders is like herding cats, for every one you corner, another 10 will slip between your feet. They already know this, but are making far too much money and have put their eggs in one basket, they can't stop now, and they know it.

you could use me as a test subject, but id probibly spend it all on nukes and unmarked white vans, to be distributed to the worlds urban centers :D
as for the riaa, they will never win. i suspect they will be a victim of geek terrorism before that happens. they wont be able to touch the open source apps and formats at all, and if people have to rip cds and dvds via analog, they will. the riaa is simply pissed off at their own incompetance, and like all pissed off rich people, they will take their anger out on the wekest of their enemies. theyve created formats noone wants to use, apps that suck, devices that suck, i can still load up drm devices with pirate mp3s, all while the mainstream music industriy goes down the toilet. where is WWIII when you need it?

I would pirate music a lot more if there was realy anything out there worth stealing that I hadn't already obtained.

LOL A lot of the stuff I like isn't even made anymore. All my old CD's I bought when I was around 17-18 have worn out, so I am without my Pearl Jam or SoundGarden, am Temple of the Dogless and, indeed, Stone Temple Pilotless :(

I would pirate music a lot more if there was really anything out there worth stealing, full stop.

well, I've already got my soundgarden, pearl jam, Alice In Chains, green day, smashing pumpkins, STP, beatles, live, lynyrd skynyrd, nirvana, and of course bearsuit. that's all out there, and I've got it, after about a year of furiusly colecting songs I quickly found there wasn't much that I wanted that I didn't have.
-
Don't you see?!!!!! That is what the RIAA wants you to do. Their real strategy is to flood the markets with **** that isn't even worth stealing to make piracy stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:D

If so, their Lack Of Quality ControlTM needs work. I still occasionally encounter something I like...though rarely on the radio.
