Title: Need chem help quick.
Post by: Deepblue on June 02, 2006, 07:34:48 am
1. What exacly does an acid do to a dye that results in larger concentrations of dye in the high concentration areas(before applying acid) and lower concentrations in the low concentration areas(before applying acid)?

2. How does bleach work to keep dye from binding to fabrics?

I would say that depends a lot from the dye and fabric used...

Acids could alter some reactive groups in the fabric... Or just slightly change the equilibrium

And...
