Title: Need help with Modelview32 + Gunpoints
Post by: Swordfish on June 02, 2006, 10:11:31 pm
Hi i have a problem with Modelwiew32, everytime i try to change the 'normal' field in the pof editor to use the gun convergence, when i save the program crashes and corrupts my .pof file. This has happened every single time, save for the time i did it to the Star Trek Peregrine fighter/shuttle, the program saved the gun points fine and it work in game, any ideas?

thanks in advance

Have you tried setting them up in PCS instead? I can't really define what is causing the problem, but sometimes one program won't do something and you'll find the other one can, sometimes it varies from ship to ship seemingly without reason.

PCS won't do it.  You can in fact change the normal for gunbanks, but like it is with turrets, it won't allow you to use different normals for firepoints within the same bank.  Sure, it will let you THINK you can do it, but if you set it to say 0.05 for one point, -0.05 for the next one, if you go back you'll see that the first point has been set to -0.05.  You can confirm this after the fact by saving it, then opening the file in MODview.  The only other pof editor program I know of is Aurora, and I haven't touched it in a couple years.
