Title: Specular option with -spec_xxx
Post by: TheSisko87 on June 04, 2006, 01:14:16 pm
I've noticed that when using the custom flags like spec_point or spec_tube, when I open the launcher, the "enable specular" box is unchecked, but there is a "-spec" tagged at the end of the custom flags.  Should I enable the checkbox too?

I thought that this was just a FS2_Open bug, but it's a Launcher bug too.  Both are fixed, though the fixed Launcher is too new and isn't available yet.

Yep.  I'll probably release one more Launcher test build for pre-5.4 tonight and the fix will be in there as well.  Pretty much all other bugs are fixed, just have to deal with the sound tab (with regards to OpenAL) before 5.4 goes final.

yay, thanks to the new launcher, I can actually use the recommended settings on the wiki now, and it does look nicer. I don't agree with the -fov recommended settings there tho.... very unpleasant to play with a 0.39 fov.

Perfect fov is -fov 0.6732 for me. Calculated it using some monitor-to-head thing some guy posted on this forum ages ago. Said to take feet to monitor and monitor size into account or something. In any event, -fov 0.6732 is perfect for my flatpanel. :P
