Lamer Noob Question time :nervous:
How do i add a ship to FS2 for use in a mission/campaign? I know i have to edit tables and such, but the details are blurry at best.
If someone could give me a quck rundown of how to do it i'd appreciate it ;)

I think there's a misunderstanding, i'm not talking about converting a model to a pof file, nor am i talking about retexturing stuff.
I'm trying to figure out to add an existing ship (eg the Angel scout) into FS2 for use in a mission/campaign.
This involves editing table files, but i don't know exactly how to do this (should i extract the .tbl files from the vb files, and edit that file, or does .tbl files in /data/tables get added to the tbl in the vp's etc)

Well if the angel scout had a pof, it would be a case of copying an existing fighter entry, and going from there. The WIKI shows ships.TBL and what bits mean.

This is the best way to go when learning mods, Its the <cheese>first step on a great road of dsicovery</cheese>
You have an angel scout .pof?

Yea, the angel scout is part of FSPort

Just copy a fighter entry from ships.tbl then, as long it has all relevant pof data ie gunpoints, missile banks, and a viewpoint + subs etc, You can just whack it in :D
