So i went out and bought a 360 with graduation money (lying about price ftw!). I picked up star wars battlefront 2 (cause its a kick ass game) fully knowing that it needed a patch to update that you could get off live (gold i know you can, dunnow about silver). So i set it up, downlaod the manual update for games patched before march (where BF2 is listed) and the console tries to read it as a movie dvd and goes 'blah no play for you'.
Now, I know that a patch exists on live gold to make it work, and I plan on hooking up to silver tomorrow. Should I be looking for some patch not included in the massive compilation of them, or is there just a more recent version on live?

plug it into a network and let 'er rip.
either way, check your support page to see if battlefront 2 is supported by backwards compatability.
now folks, THIS is what one would call "a helpful answer"

the game is definately supported, i've played it on my friends 360...
Theres no problem with the disk, its brand new and flawless. I even get the 'this is an xbox game, not a movie, put it in an xbox to play it, not a dvd player you dolt' thing. The update there was able to go in fine, it just didn't make the game work (it actually made the 'not a movie' thing pop up instead of the normal 'not compatable' thing.
Guess i'll try a network then, thanks...
Hey! the box still needs holes!
*turns blue*

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardscompatibility.htm here, there's a little proggy there that you can burn to DVD and stick it into your 360 to update it.
