Well, I watched Severed Dreams before and I saw the Hyperion cruiser and Omega destroyer fire beams. However, the EA vessels in the demo didn't have beams.
I assume EA aquired beam technology after the Earth-Minbari War??

I'm not entirely clear on this (so probably aren't the best qualified to answer), but at the beginning of the Earth-Minbari war I know that Earthforce lacked beam weapon technology. Sometime during the conflict, Earth conspired with the Narns to get their hands on Centauri weaponry (which I would assume included particle beams). I don't know if these beams were implemented on ships before or after the war ended. According to B5TECH.COM ("http://www.b5tech.com/earthalliance/earthallianceshipsandvessels/earthcapships/hyperion.html") (a place that people have been saying isn't completely canon), the Midwinter variant of the Hyperion cruisers came into service in 2247, the same year the Earth-Minbar war ended. And, according to B5TECH.COM, these ships came equipped with the X-Ray/particle laser (beams) weaponry. My guess is that these ships didn't come out before the war ended. Since the TBP team is trying to remain mostly canon, I'd assume they would've put this beam into the demo release if they could have.

I see.
By the way, is there any episode of Babylon 5 that featured the Warlock destroyer in action?

The EA did not have beam weapons at the time of the E-M War

Hyperions were refitted after the Earth Minbari war. They were renamed Midwinter class cruisers and sported two X-Ray Laser Beam weapons.
The Warlock was seen in combat once during A Call to Arms. In a particular scene it lets loose a large volley of missiles at a off screen target (presumably ripping it to pieces).

Oh I see. Thanks for the info.
Time to look for that episode....

Um, I mean, despite what people seem to think, there is only the Hyperion class. Roosevelt, Midwinter.... all those names are wrong. They are ALL Hyperions.

Its not bs dude. The Midwinter variant sported two X-Ray laser cannons which were mounted on the rear section of the ship. They were first shown firing them in "Severed Dreams". I have a clip showing one of the cannons firing. (Clarkstown firing on the Alexander)

I'm not saying the variant is crap, I'm saying the name is crap. JMS has said that the AoG stuff is pretty damn close to what he envisions. The whole 'Alpha/Midwinter/Roosevelt' thing is from that bloody B5tech site that claims to be 94.7% accurate or some bull**** like that. Then they go off and say that AoG is wrong, because you see the Hyperion herself in one ep. Well, guess who got got kudos from B5's creator for doing a good job..... oh, that would be AoG. It annoys me that so many people just accept that the variant is called the Midwinter....... it was named after Midwinter.com!
Bah.

The six Babylon 5 telemovies:
The Gathering - Season 1, pilot for the series
In The Beginning - depicts the Earth-Minbari war in some detail
Thirdspace - evil aliens from an evil realm come to Babylon 5 to dispense their evil preachings
River of Souls - (may not be exact name) A Soul Hunter artifact containing various trapped souls of an angry and extinct race finds its way on to our favorite space station.
A Call to Arms - Drakh come in and try to kill Earth. They do a half-monkied job.
Legend of the Rangers - Something about disgruntled postal workers aka Rangers escorting a group of VIPs to somewhere. Also involves "The Hand", which supposedly "make the Shadows look like insects". Yup.
They showed them all (except Rangers, which will air around late January if things go according to schedule - haha) on SciFi a few months ago. Dunno if or when they'll do it again.
-
I've seen all but river of souls.... well, obviously not LotR. Hmmm..... Lord of the Rings/Legend of the Rangers. Why'd they have to have the same acronym? (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)
-
I've seen ALL the B5's including Crusade eps apart from the two that are on pre-recorded tape 23 (which i can't find).
I've seen all four films, and I think they are all cool apart from River of Souls which is... well... not what I was hoping from a B5 movie. Don't get me wrong, it aint complete crap, just not as good as I'd hoped.
BTW, I normally consider The Gathering as a B5 episode, although it is an hour and a half long...
