They have won, in a sense; there's no music worth pirating on the radio anymore.

No, they're correct.  File downloading is taking off, and P2P is dying.  Maybe it's because the idiots using P2P only have access to ****ty quality and improperly ripped tracks, and they're only just now realizing that.  Hell, even Napster is better than the best Kazaa has to offer.  I pay my $1.85 per album, and I honestly dont mind that expense, knowing that my copy is both legit and top quality.

No, they're correct.  File downloading is taking off, and P2P is dying.

I hereby pronounce you "full of it".

Heck, if you want the HD versions of many shows, the only way to get them is via P2P.

If anything, there are more seeders/leechers on Bit Torrent than ever.

Am I the only one who maintains a decent (>1) ratio on bit torrent, without having to seed afterwards?

Used to, then I got Azureus, which works much better then whatever crap programs I was using before.

So you freely admit that you don't bother looking for things on BitTorrent anymore, yet you claim that filesharing is dieing?
Title: Re: RIAA claims victory
Post by: Scuddie on June 14, 2006, 10:12:26 pm
Private filesharing is still alive, but public filesharing is not used very commonly anymore.  I suppose I should have clarified that.  Too much **** in the stream, so to say.

Me neither. Their "strategies" were even paroried here:

It's plain stupid, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them do something like that...
