Very nice!  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

I think the impact should be... more grand. But if this is WIP, then i'm sure you'll fix that.

I hope we get to see the finished result.

also upgrading it - there is now a city that just escapes the imapct but several building get set on fire and a number of other small imporovemtns - i forgot to make the explosions bigger but thats my last prority now cuase i added the city and rendered that scenen and it took forever to render so  i dont much want to do it again

I know what that feels like. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif)
My scene was just 2 fighters flying towards a planet (Mars) and some Video Post events. 1½, 2 hours easy

Of course, the 25 lights might have had something to do with it  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

hmmm that scene had the light in the asteroid - 8 addtional point lights 2 spots lights and the distant light all but the distant light had lenseflare and i had 8 particle emiiters with hypervoxel sprites being generated  - takes alot to make a building burn =( i would have destroyed the buildings but that would ahve taken much longer i could have morphed theminto junk but that would jsut look wrong anyway its coming along nicely - i'm aftaid to report that version 2 is going to larger - i've added 2 mini scenes and improved scene 2 and lengthed and changed slightly scene 1 cause the asteroid would have missed the planet on that cource so for realism i thought i ouwl change it now it should impact the edge of the planet so the entry angle into the atmosphere doesn't look to wrong - its probally abit steep compared to the angle it hits teh ground at but not to bad hopefully - now the questions is do you want to see a intermeidate test render before the full animation?

oh and to give you an idea of the upgrade - scnene two which i just had handy from earlier tests i put in cause it needed another shot the new scenen two is flashy and has taken 2 hours to render and is only half way through

ohhhhhh i underestimated scnen 2 rendering time - its only just finished anyway it is quite impressive so worth it i think - rendering teh final scene now - hopefully tomorrow i will get up uploaded - it will basically be for those with bradband though cause  its getting long should be over 35secs when finsihed maybe more adn for something of no real importance whpos goign to bother =( but oh well sur some people will enjoy it - i enjoyd making it so thats the important bit

i cant be ment to finsih this =( i went to bed after setting up the final scene to render when i wake up i go look at it and discover the texture on the planet has reverted back to before i set it up and look like a fine grain spray paint job =(  so i must render it again =- whats worse is i would swear i saved all the objects =( but anyway i know i have no and if it messed up on me again my computer is going fora  trip out my window
