So says Kotaku (http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/irrational/rumor-system-shock-3-in-the-works-181296.php).
There is a rumor floating around, supposedly to be found in Game Informer magazine's latest 'Loose Talk' column, that System Shock 3 is in the works by EA.
But Irrational isn't the company working on it. Instead, the team that put together the execrable Godfather game has been put in charge of the project.
Wasn't that rapid succession of exquisite joy followed by unbearable torment fun? It's like having a nail gun shot into your spine at the moment of orgasm.
So System Shock is maybe coming back. Which is good. But stupid, talentless hacks are being put in charge. Which is bad. But they may die in an earthquake before completing the game. Which is good. But then we won't get another System Shock. Which is bad. But the game ships with free frozen yogurt, which I call "frogurt". Which is good. The frogurt contains pottasium benzonate. Which is bad.

Well, the folks behind SS are doing a game that, like Supreme Commander for TA, is a spirtual successor to SS, and that's BioShock. The game looks ****in fantastic, and is getting a lot of press. To the folks that are (supposedly) working on SS3, to them I say good luck, as they'll NEVER be able to top what Irrational did, and what their going to do with BioShock.

Bioshock was many sites GOTS and 360 GOTS (Spore got all the PC GOTS awards).

Regardless of its crappiness, I'd still buy or otherwise acquire it if it meant hearing SHODAN call me an inSSSSSSSSSect again. ;)

'problem is, since the fall of Looking Glass, the SS franchise is in a similar limbo to Freespace. Unless there have been recent developments, I'm not even sure if EA can lay claim to the Shock licence.
