i am having problems with getting inferno to work under the new rc2 3.6.9 and the new media vps, when i load up inferno half the capitail ships have half the textures missing ie, the alcyone, the icelus etc. and alot of the fighters bring up this
Error: Can't open model file <Menelaos.pof>
File:C:\temp\fs2_open_3_6_9.pre\code\Model\ModelRead.cpp

i have the inferno Vps put into Inferno folder for the mod select on the launcher and it looks ok, i have also got the inferno patch and created a new pilot.

Looks like it's not reading the patch VP correctly.

i have just re-installed it and it seems to be working fine now, weird :wtf:

Or is it......... :shaking: :nervous: :shaking:

I have the exact same problem, inferno vp files in an inferno folder, load mod using launcher, get error log with "cannot find menelaos.pof" and some capital ships are invisible.
I used the patch from Shadow0000 thread, i'll try to install the patch from another source... Is there a better source?
-
:welcomegreen: Hmm maybe you should just used the regular patch?
-
Yep, got the patch from inferno's website and everything seems fine. It's strange that Shadow2000 patch (which is named INF_1patch.vp) used with the regular patch (which creates a file named INF_2patch.vp) makes ships dissapear in the tech room. I need to compare more these files to see why. (Maybe shadow's patch is made to use only the ships that are called in the campaign, but has more eye-candies in it...)
So, to be clear, my problem was that i thought that shadow2000 patch was the only patch to install.
Cheers

Isn't the INF_1patch.vp for Inferno R1?
Because I had a similar problem (only that it was the vesuvius that wasn't found), because of installing the R1 patch into the R2 folder.
