Title: Forum of the future?
Post by: Colonol Dekker on June 23, 2006, 04:35:40 am
http://forums.adventchildren.net (http://forums.adventchildren.net)

I just found it whilest trying to get an FF Victory Jingle for my Motorola,
It seems pretty cool, (content aside) the fact you can earn gil/points and unlock stuff like custom font glows, Its quite novel and seems to add a bit of fun to the whole process, you can buy crap for your sig, new avatars etc.

Any thoughs moderator types? :D

I presume you unlock stuff by posting more?

Which just screams "spam frenzy" to me.

Or instead of turning it into some crappy pseudo-RPG, you could use a message board for, you know, posting messages. Plus, anything that encourages CD to post here more often can't be a good idea. :p

a forum game on that order would need to be fairly heavily moderated to keep it from turning to a total spamfest.
some people have hardly the time to do that.

Already been done about four years ago on the Lucas Arts forums.

****ing annoyance that got its **** ruined quite soon after everyone started spamming their stupid opinions on matters they had no clue about just to get their postcount up and it wouldn't seem like spam.
