Title: Question, Maybe a dumb one
Post by: starbug on July 03, 2006, 04:39:28 pm
But how do you get the HDR effect? I have seen alot of screenshots with it but i am not sure how to get it working on my system.  Just so you's know i have  3.6.9 RC 2, the latest medias, My graphics card is the ATI X800 6.5 catalyst drivers. I have seen the effect when i play half-life2 ep1 and its a cool effect.

You have to downgrade the driver to 6.3 unfortunately. The newer ones doesn't support it. If you're ready to do that, you can download something called ATI Tray Tools and set the custom shader option in that to HDRish or HDRish lite, which are included with the program.

Yes, you did. :D

This "HDR" isn't really HDR at all but a bloom effect applied to any bright spots on the screen. It looks nice on ships, but also makes the backgrounds blurry.
