Upgrade from version 1.5 to 1.8.

There are other ways to solve your problem but that is by far the easiest.

...dont have an opinion etc...

Is that concerning my welcome speech?

Opinions are bad

Especiallt if you, like me, are trying to take over the world  ;7

Besides, I think my welcome speech just says "watch out"

Holy **** I have a knack for making people pissed at everything I say

No idea why that didn't work unless you've installed mods incorrectly but you can upgrade manually instead. Delete the VP files in the mediavps folder and replace them with the ones from this thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,39905.0.html) and this thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,40808.0.html).

The second thread also contains a new build. Download and extract it to your Freespace2 folder and then select it in the launcher.

Report back if that doesn't fix it. :)

If D3D doesn't work I'm not hugely surprised. D3D support is currently hanging on by its fingernails. Everyone just uses OpenGL these days.

Apart from that you seem to have a handle on everything.
