Think this might be a sign that my sound card is beginning to die, but I'm not sure.
If I'm running a program that uses sound (winamp, a game, etc) and use it for a couple hours, it will suddenly and inexplainably crash. It's a little frustrating, and the problem only surfaced today. I haven't installed anything funky or been on any unusual websites, so I'm not sure what the deal is.
The card is a Sound Blaster Live! Audio E400.

Is it getting unusually hot? I've never heard of a sound card overheating but you never know, especially if you have a video card fan blowing hot air next to it.

Could also simply be a software issue such as operating system problem, audio driver problem or a recently installed software causing the problem. When you're clueless and don't have any leads, the easiest and quickest way to confirm whether it is a software or hardware problem is to reinstall your operating system and format the partition while at it.
