More than 160 people have been killed and 460 injured by seven bombs on the train network in the Indian financial capital Mumbai (Bombay), police say.

The first of the near-simultaneous blasts went off at about 1830 local time (1300 GMT), during the rush hour in the suburbs on the Western Railway.

Pakistan

... no.

Do you know anything about India, or did you just leap to the nearest muslim country? India has enough internal radicalist groups - they've been bombing their own country for years.

Pakistan's been bombing India for years too. Or at least their radicals have. Kashmir's still a hot button. There's a proven track record here, Black Wolf, while it is about them being the nearest Muslim country, it's not about them being the nearest Muslim country in the way you think.

But that's like saying that stealing money is a bankrobber's MO. There are a thousand terrorist groups around the world who have nothing to do with al-Q or indeed any Islamist group, and given that I've never heard India singled out for attack among jihadi circles my guess is that it's something closer to home. Maybe the Maoist insurgency which India has been fighting?

We don't even know that Al-Queda was behind the London bombings, let alone responsible for logistical planning.

The most obvious & immediate  suspects would seem to be Kashmiri militants (sometimes funded by Pakistan).

Recently released video wills of the bombers suggest otherwise aldo.

It would seem that this is only the tip of the iceberg for India

Rapidly deteriorating governance has created a political and social crisis in India. The growing power of India's leftist parties has hamstrung the centrist Manmohan Singh government, resulting in a policy vacuum that has in turn produced an upsurge in domestic extremism and international terrorism.

It's always amused me that everyone thinks India is very unstable, but it reality they're probably the most stable, governmentally, of the Asian countries. People have been declaring that they're going down the drain for at least the past fifteen years. They're still there.

Right.

Y'see, I've not seen that sofar anywhere, and AFAIK it's not even certain they were suicide bombs (apparently the wounds indicate it's possible they were placed in overhead luggage racks).
