Title: The Carolina. Corvette or Fighter?1
Post by: foolfromhell on July 12, 2006, 12:26:15 am
I know when theres a problem, Freespace puts in a Ulysses. I have FS2 retail installed with Inferno R1. and Sola a History installed. What else do I need to fix it so the Carolina is a Corvette and not a Ulysses?
The other thread bout this asks if Inferno works in FSO. That person had FSO installed.
All I have is FS2-retail and Inferno and Sol: A History. I can install FSport if needed...

If your trying to play the INF campaign make sure SAH isn't active and that you have the INF SCP patch if you do use a FSO build.

For SAH in retail you'll have to remove it, with FSO you just remove the mod commandline for it.

Thanks a lot. Gonna make another copy of FS2 now. One has FS2 regular. One has FSport. and One is gonna get Inferno. Really wish it had voice acting...

Maybe voice synthesis would help. Though monotone and not perfect.
but FSOpen doesnt work on my computer. I tried, it hangs within the first few seconds. Im alright with that though.

Upgrading will help. What are your system specs?
3.2 GHz P4 on Socket 478.
1.75GB RAM.
Nvidia 6600 w/ 256 MB VRAM
165GB HDD.
100GB HDDspace Free
1280x1024 19inch LCD.
Dont see any problemo.

You should have a motherboard with a fast front side bus and AGP 8X or higher. I have AGP 8X and a 1.8 GHz front side bus.

No, you don't. Athlon 64's do not technically have a "front side bus" they have an onboard memory controller, there is no bus to the memory controller. (that's what a FSB is.) You actually have a hypertransport link that provides bandwidth to the memory chips, which is usually 1 Ghz in either direction, marketing tries to make this look bigger by adding these numbers together which is also technically incorrect. You have a maximum bandwidth limited by the clockspeed and memory type, which, at 128 bit hypertransport speed, is maximum of around 6.4 GB/sec at DDR1-400 Mhz speeds.
