Very nice work!! I think you may be able to get away with more detail on the hull of the cube though, perhaps having the circular exit for the sphere a la first contact?

Nice texturing job as well. Hey, here's a thought, would it be possible to have the sphere inside the cube? Kinda like the Iceni model inside the asteroid base.

If you could set it up so that it launches the sphere just as it explodes it would look excellent.

i tested it and after it destroyed a sathanus it's hull was at 77%.

If u watch the show, all the ships are extremely fast at sublight, the sathanas shouldn't even be able to hit it, since the cube could just maneuver behind the sathanas and blast it from behind where there is minimal firepower.

it does, but i put it in front of the sathanus in the beginning on the mission and t fired it's beams before the cube could get away.

In all scenes that I've seen the Borg cube in (which aren't many, I admit), the cube seems to be under attack from several, up to dozens for many different corvettes.

For someone virtually retarded in the ST universe, can someone put up a size comparison of a cube and say, a few other ships - like an Orion, DS9, the Enterprise, you know.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

in first contact they had dozens of ships attacking that one cube. i would amagine that a few collosus's (maybe 5) could do the job.

BTW, the new version so far has 8 borg disruptors, 8 borg torpedos, 8 cutting lasers, and 2 tractor beams.

actually, it's 2.5 km. and the HP is 1000,000. the tractor beams won't tractor. i set the mass to -1000, the speed to 2500, and the damage to 1 (to account for hull stress)

Probably FS2 has problems with the negative values. I once tried a repair beam by giving a beam negative damage, but FS2 just treated it like 0 damage.

i also tried setting the beam to possitive, but it still wouldn't work. when you shoot it on a fighter as those little pulses, it works fine (even as negative) but as a beam it does squat.

You could try to pretend a beam by making a pulse weapon with very high refire rate.
