A New York doctor suspected of blowing up his own house to prevent his ex-wife benefiting from its sale after their divorce has died from his injuries.
...
Cordula Bartha told police she had received an e-mail shortly before the explosion telling her she would be "transformed from a gold digger to an ash and rubbish digger".
...
Neighbours are now suing Bartha's estate for damages they say were caused to their property by the explosion.
Crikey. I guess he got his wish, then..........

Damn Right, deny the biatch everything................ :pimp:
Women turn nasty, nasty, nasty when they become ex's.......
-
I don't know what unsettles me more; the article or Dekker's reaction to it.
-
We've all been in the whole breakup argument situation, It is one of the most hostile situations on the face of the planet, (for a one on one) Any true adults who haven't been through that at least once are either very very very lucky or lying.
-
Hehe I could see how this could happen. America + American women + man + money + marriage + divorse = trouble for the man.
-
LoL, sometimes I think America + Marriage = divorse. :p
No doubt spread by Hollywoods brilliant examples. ;)
-
As much as I am going to regret this, I support that mans decision. Women will just nickle and dime men away after a divorce. They get these lawyers that are nothing but wolves and they will just convince these women to go after every cent they can. Yes what he did was illegal and dangerous. But honestly, there are times that the law will victimize men. Like the time that a man was forced to pay child support because his name was on the birth certificate. BUT, the child was concieved out of wed-lock. In other words, his wife cheated, then divorced him, and the whole time had to support a child that was not his.
-
Good for him.

I would have preferred that to what I got. At least then I could bring myself to actually hate her.

And people wonder why some of us just avoid romantic relationships altogether. ;)
-
Because they believe "'tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all".
We believe "you never miss what you never have", right up until we grow up...
-
It's troubling how many members of this forum act awfully misogynistic. *glances at Dekker*
-
I dont hate women, i jusr hate ex's. Its like a mini-divorce (hostility wise), I'm sure there ae lot of firightened/unconfident people who have never been in that situation, but without conflict there is no resolutioin and you just end up being a doormat. Thankfully i grew up years ago in that respect, and have a loving wife and daughter.

Funny, in every single break-up I've seen the leech has been the man in it. None more obvious than my parents divorce after 18 years, but that's a story I'ld rather not get into.
****ing stereotypical bull****. :hopping:

This story/anecdote/generalization gives me hope.

Wow, there's no shortage of bitter people here sometimes :)

That one day you too can be a leech? :p
-
Man, depending on who you ask, I already am. :p
More along the lines that it's just one more gender difference which is arbitrary, women aren't the only one who can sue the pants off somebody for no other reason than they broke up with them.

Women turn nasty, nasty, nasty when they become ex's.......
only if you're a misogynist - all my exs are still on friendly terms with me and one of them is even coming to my wedding

You sound bitter. You must be pretty unlucky all these years... :P
I do not give credits to divorced women who depend on the financial support from their exs for a living, when they can survive fine on their own. It's rather embarrassing to see my 'kind' do that sometimes.
-
I'm not bitter, its all circumstantial. I've had good breakups, and i've had bad.
Its just for the man in the article to go to such extremes, He cant have been the anagoniser. So i can relate to his situation.
[dont forget i'm happily married now :D ]

That sort of behaviour really pisses me off. What's worse is that it should piss feminists off too but you never hear a word about it from them cause it's in women's financial interest to do that.
Just look at the way alimony is set up. The woman gets it until she remarries. No matter how long she was married for nor how long until she remarries. That's basically saying that women can't look after themselves and need a man to do it, isn't it?
Yet I have never heard any self proclaimed feminist put it that way. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places.

Frankly divorce laws are really unfair and punish if not victimize guys. One of the MANY reasons that you should not get married. And in regaurds to pre-nuptial agreements, if you need one of those, then you should not marry this person. Also why you should date women a VERY LONG TIME and have a short engagement.
-
Meh.
I'm of the opinion: Every woman is a slut, except the one I end up marrying.

Your lucky that way. My only ex pretends I do not exist. I just go along...just a very bitter person.
For some its no problem...for others its like night and day. I've seen both...experienced one. Its the way of things.

My only ex is actually one of my better friends, and that's after a pretty awful breakup too.

Icefire: That's what happened to me. She stopped speaking to me one day. I'm lucky if she acknowledges my existance before she bumps into me.
The damnable thing is that no one, no one, knows why. She won't say. If someone tries to bring it up in conversation she pretends not to hear them. She won't tell her brother, her friends, her parents, anyone. It's a question I've thought over many times, seeking some offense, some insult, I offered, and I just draw a blank. So I've been sitting here in the dark for years without a clue what went wrong, no sense of closure.
It would be easier if I could hate her for inflicting the kind of pain she did. But I don't know if it was my fault somehow.

In which case she's a naive idiot?
:p

Its down to individual chemistry and how people react to the breakup, sometimes it all ends up roses, Sometimes you end up hating their guts. although the circumstances in which the breakup take place are a big factor too.
My personal opinion is variety is the spice of life get out, get your nuts in, if it turns into a long term thing, Great, If you just get your nuts in, its all practice. When you eventually settle, At least you had a good innings.
If you happen to be a bit more traditional thats great also.
Just take the bad with the good, or the good with the bad depending on your point of view. ;)

Sounds like she has some kind of internal issue, and feels better about herself by influencing other people and getting them to feel bad over her. She clearly doesn't have any interest in solving the issue.
Oh ****, here I am playing relationship counselor again.

In which case she's a naive idiot?
Horrifically enough: Yes.
This is why I stopped bothering trying to get into relationships.
I try to hide the evil. And they don't see it because I hide it so well. So I label them as idiots in my head.
And in a nice little practical application of a Catch-22, the only girl I'll every truly not-wish-dead would be the one who sees the evil - at which point all her interest in me will die. And if it doesn't, I'll lose all respect for her for wanting to be with someone who'd sell her bones while she slept.
It's one of the downsides of basing my entire mental cognative structure on evil, purist concepts.

Can't lose what you don't have........

There's enough bitterness in this thread to start a Lemon factory :)
-
Can't lose what you don't have........
No ****.
Fortunately, I'm ****ed-up enough that I don't really care that I'm ****ed-up. Being 'sane' is more an idealistic intellectual concept to me. Like owning a 360. Sure, it'd be cool - but playing Halo 3 isn't worth the effort I'd need to put in to be able to afford the console.
-
Everyone's ****ed up, in some way or another.
