Title: Wheres the FSOpen launcher?
Post by: foolfromhell on July 17, 2006, 11:22:04 am
In my previous installed from ShivanSPS (or something) it didnt work. So I installed these files onto FS Retail.

Now, where to go for the FSOpen launcher? To enable the advanced effects and 1024x768 resolution? Thanks

Hmmm. You shouldn't be putting media VP files directly in your main folder. Stick them in a folder called mediavps instead (not all the VPs just any extras you download plus the two you've circled). In addition you shouldn't install the patch VPs unless you already have the 3.6.8 Zeta VPs installed.

On the other hand you already have Sparky_hi_fs2 so 1024x768 should work straight away.

You can find the launcher here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,40121.0.html).

The two mv_alphapatch VPs are what I refer to. Make a new folder inside your FreeSpace2 folder and add them there.

Have a look at my FAQ if you need any further help. There's a full installation guide in there.
