I'm tired of all commercials.
-
comercials are what they called spam before the internet. back then spam was a caned meat, whos animal orgin is unknown, which was invented back during ww2 as food for the soldiers. dispite that noone buys it because of its fat content, you can still buy spam at the grocery store. unless of course you live in a country, like mexico, where if violates the local health ordinances. :D

I think Spam is Salted Pork and Ham. Therefore it's all pig meat!
I could be wrong though!
There is a new kind of Spam out, flavoured with black pepper!

I can just imagine zods at the end of that film going "bup'up abup bup" instead of the Close encounters jingle.....

Actually, I believe it's SPiced-hAM, if I remember correctly.
But, I propose we get one of our American members to check out the Spam museum in Austin, Minnesota for the true meaning behind Spam. An epic journey indeed.

Ummm, no. The only thing spam has in common with TV commercials is that they're both trying to sell something.
Spam is more closely equivalent to junk mail, in that it's delivered directly to you. Commercials can be avoided simply by turning off the TV.
-
And spam can be dealt with by deleting the e-mails.
-
Yes, thank you Lord of the Obvious.

Just following your lead, sir.
-
I think ZylonBane needs a hug.
-
Okay, let me rephrase that in simple-person talk...
Commercials (TV, radio, print, banner ads, whatever) can simply be ignored. Spam and junk mail must be actively and individually dealt with. That is the difference.
-
Not if they appear half way the show I'm watching. You can ignore spam by not opening the mail.
-
I'm not sure how much distinction there is between the mental effort of, say, drowning out 5 minutes of a radio ad vis-a-vis the physical 0.1 second action of clicking 'delete'.......

I can ignore spam and junk mail too. In fact, I do ignore spam, since the spamguard catches it all and leaves it in the spam folder where it is soon automatically deleted.

In the United Kingdom Spam is a popular addition to the menu of fish and chip shops, where slices are battered and deep-fried and are known as 'Spam Fritters'.
I can honestly say i have never seen SPAM sold with the good ol fish n chips round my parts. But i do know my Gran likes to eat it.
Oh. and i like macs. :nervous:
