Kinda Freespaced out at the moment, to be honest. I'll get back to it; using the time to work on some models and more campaign plotting.

Half Life (Just finished it for the first time, yay for keeping up with rest of the gaming world)
Half Life 2
FreeSpace 2

FS2

NFS Most Wanted
DX Invisible War

Well i looked for an Age setting DOA style (I am 99 i swear) but RRXX handles well, The custom character editor enables you to enhance "attributes" and when my 13 year old bro stays, he crosses his legs when the characters grapple, The noises and grunts aren't bad either *nudge wink* "You know what i mean lol"

The actual game is only good for the first half. Then it gets downright terrible with a really, really bad plot device.

The only other strategy game I've played previously was a little game called Enemy Nations, which in some ways rocked and in some ways completely sucked, then I found Warzone, which rocks all the way, I've played multiplayer games where I'm in the game continues for three hours, and there is always stuff to research.

I wouldn't say so. It just skips over two weeks of plot, since they had initially planned an episodic release style. You still know whats going on, you still can enjoy the game.

I LOVE Secret of Mana. The german translation is really bad though. ;(
Well, I've probably played it like 20-30 times. The next turn will be with the english version.

BTW, did you know there is a SoM Mod for HL2 in the works?
It turned out to be not 100% connected to SoM, but will be similar in many ways. I've agreed to join the modding team as soon as SoL is complete.

I always wanted to play the Ultima series but never got round to it. I had Champions of Krynn though. One of SSI's Dragonlance series and that was quite good. I used to enjoy typing random characters to the inventory section of the game save files to give myself bizarre magic items. I once got a +6 Adamant Dagger Awl Mace. The +6 presumably comes from the baffling effect on opponents when they see it.

I've still got that installed on my gaming comp somewhere. I really need to play it again.

Wolfenstien 3D (A leapord doesn't change her spots, not even in 15 years)

That was possibly the first PC game I ever played. Then again, I was nine at the time, and I hadn't got the first Freespace yet.

I've been on somewhat of a DosBox craze the last couple of weeks (as I haven't had the free time I'd want for a modern game like Oblivion for over a month now), so my top 5 recent games looks something like this, in no particular order:

Master of Magic
Star Command
Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday
Privateer
Ultima 6: The False Prophet

And also got in a playthrough of Full Throttle recently. Man, that is still one sweet game.

2:  Kingdom Hearts 1 (Never played it before, so borrowed from a friend.)
3:  Descent 2 (Multiplayer fun!)

Four or five times, at least. It's a brilliant sequence.

I really should get around to finishing it. I kind of lost interest once Jack finally gets his hands on a weapon -- the game seems to lose something when you're no longer completely defenseless.

:nervous:

Try running a search on your p2p program of choice for Three Sister's Story, Paradise Heights 2, Runaway City, True Love (and savegames if you can find them, damn game is a killer)...Sentimental Shooting's fun too. Kinda a Galaga/Raiden gone porno thing. Tough to beat unless you figure out which key's the scrollstop. Don't ask me, I've long since forgotten. There's at least a couple of Sailor Moon hentai Solitare decks floating around out there too.

Some of those might not run under WinXP. Runaway City you'll need DOSBox for, Sentimental Shooting remember to turn frameskip on or it locks up. True Love and Paradise Heights 2 work, or at least I think they work.  Three Sister's Story you'll need to dig up an install of Win95, 2000, or Millenium for. You can safely assume anything else you encounter out there on teh intarwebs either isn't translated (like the Viper series) or needs DOSbox/non-XP Windows.

Nothing to see here, folks, move along... :nervous:

/me ducks out of the folder on his desktop marked "Jim's Old-As-Hell Games".

Personally, I think its biggest disappointment isn't its painful gameplay, but in fact the story. It's not that it's bad as such, certainly not as far as games go, but it is so poorly narrated compared to TLJ's that the 'main' plot, by the end, seems hardly relevant at all and the emotional impact it's meant to have is all but destroyed. When you get right down to it, it seems that only the very beginning and very end are actually important and everything between it is just a vague side-story. I'm also quite frustrated with Ragnar Tørnquist for turning a potentially awesome (if obvious) character arc into one of the clumsiest moments in the entire game.

It does have its moments, though. It's just very disappointing.

Possibly... but some of the best voiceacting of them all. Roy Conrad was awesome as Ben, making even the most silly line ooze coolness, and I challenge anyone to have recognized Mark Hamill as Ripburger before reading the credits ;) And of course, it had a charging horde of mechanized rabbits with ride of the valkyries playing, which is instant win.

Definitely too short though. Way too short. Good things always are...
